After only two practices without pads Tennessee freshman defensive tackle Khalil McKenzie is already turning a few heads across the nation due to his sheer size.
“Khalil McKenzie was one of the prizes of Tennessee’s 2015 recruiting class, as the five-star defensive tackle from California was the sixth-best prospect in the nation according to 247Sports,” Tom Fornell of CBS Sports wrote. “When you see McKenzie is listed at 6-foot-3 and 327 pounds by Tennessee, you immediately know that this is a large person you’re dealing with.”
“But reading his measurements on a roster isn’t quite the same thing as seeing a photo of him,” Fornell added.
Patrick Brown of the Times Free Press described McKenzie as “comically large.”
Apologies (again) to freshman DE Darrell Taylor for using him to show how comically large Kahlil McKenzie is. pic.twitter.com/Y8gr24uwKW

CBSSports CFB asked if McKenzie’s legs are made of flesh and bone or repurposed Redwoods. A fair question, isn’t it?
Our fans here on VolNation even started a thread of nicknames for the young freshman, some quite catchy: Kahlil needs a nickname!
Granted, he has only been on campus for a short time, but if looks are any indication, Tennessee fans should expect to see Khalil McKenzie on the field early and often this season.
Opponents beware.
