His rationale? Scott compares Tennessee to the Ole Miss team that recently upset the Crimson Tide and believes Josh Dobbs can match Rebel quarterback Chad Kelly’s performance in that game.
Tennessee knocks off Alabama
Tennessee is probably the best 3-3 team in the country. They play the same physical style of football that helped Ole Miss pull off the upset in Tuscaloosa a few weeks ago. After a come-from-behind win over Georgia that gave them new life, the Vols have had two weeks to get ready for Alabama. I like Joshua Dobbs to mimick Chad Kelly’s performance against the Tide and lead Tennessee to a close win in this one.
Tennessee last defeated Alabama in 2006, wining by a field goal at Neyland Stadium, 16-13.
The last time the Vols won in Tuscaloosa was the famous five overtime 51-43 game back in 2003. Quarterback Casey Clausen (who was 14-1 on the road as a starter for Tennessee) threw five touchdowns and converted a miraculous 4th-and-19 to C.J. Fayton.
