Dino Babers is a great offensive coach, but I don't know that he recruits very well.
He won 10 games at Syracuse in 2018.
Syracuse is always going to be a tough place to win, and a staff will always have to develop dozens of players on any roster to compete.

Yeah - I thought he had really seemed to right the ship there after the 2021 and 2022 seasons. They've taken just a modest step back this year, and only one of their 4 losses (to Arizona St) was bad. The other 3 teams they've lost to are good teams, and they were also all on the road.

His recruiting has fallen off and he hasn't recruited the QB position well since he landed at UCLA.

I think he finally got a 5 star last yr who has taken a decent amount of snaps this yr. That's his first high profile QB in 6 years.

He was a good coach in his prime but the game (rules) changed and he no longer has an edge.

Don't think the man cares enough to recruit at the level they want him to.

They're paying him about 6M per yr with a 9M buyout.

UCLA is one of the hardest schools in the country to recruit for FB. They really don't relax their academics much for athlete admissions. Them competing in football in the year 2023 has about the same ability as Vandy, Stanford, Duke, etc. Lot of schools competing for those few players with a bigger brainpan lol. it's doable, but it's not easy. Having one good year is not the problem, consistency is.

Bruin admin loves the revenue stream from FB, but I'm not so sure they even really care about the sport. World revolves around BB there

Dorian Thompson Robinson was the 3rd ranked dual threat QB, top 75 recruit in 2018.

he also brought in a highly ranked transfer from Washington in 2020, that I had literally never heard of named Yankoff, in 2019. Doesn't look like he did anything at all but he was also a top 5 dual threat qb coming out of high school.

not fantastic by any means, but he has had a little success at qb.

MSst is going to struggle for oxygen in recruiting no matter who is HC.
Chadwell can coach players up, and that is what they need.
The rest of that candidate list sounds like it is from 2015 with RichRod and Odom.

Jeff Lebby may be the guy that won't say no to them.

I have not seen him on a single list, but Dan Mullen is available. Seriously. Best coach they ever had.
