All things STOCKS

How high do you think Nividia stock and Eli Lilly can go in the next 5 years?
No one is catching Nvidia right now. As long as companies are moving in the AI direction, it will continue to go higher. Macro situations, however, could affect whether companies continue to go that way aka recession, war.

I don't see it slowing down any time soon. They are pacing the field right now. Despite it already being up 200% this year alone, I think it can easily double from here over the next 5 years.

You can't predict economic disasters though. A lot can happen in 5 years.

NVDA owns the high end space. AMD will take some market share, but I’m not as concerned about China as I would have been a few years ago. The pushback on the **** that they pulled on other industries in the past, primarily steel, has bipartisan support to not allow it. They could still steal the technology and dump their version of pirated chips, but without the US and their allies as customers they won’t be able to overrun that business. Also, they can’t have the best of the best ASML machines to produce them.

NVDA is in a sweet spot ATM. Things move quickly though. Novell, Intel, AOL, EMC, and Cisco all dominated their space not that long ago.

Former Lilly employee here who follows the company. I think LLY could easily double in value in five years. Mounjaro has a long way to go and the autoimmune and cancer franchises should continue to put out some nice new products. This is a well run company.

With rate these new diabetic drugs are getting prescribed, LLY could legitimately have a run like Pfizer did in 90's after it rolled out Viagra. But like all new popular drugs, there will inevitably be civil suits from unforeseen side effects, and that could drive down the price back down.

That's good to know. I have a good bit of my Roth IRA in Lilly and NVDA. Both are excellent stocks. I know Lilly has some momentum going now with some excellent drugs. I plan on staying long with both

Lilly could stumble a bit if Trump is elected. All other pharma and healthcare names as well. He’ll probably work on negotiating better deals for Medicare. But 4 years might not be enough time considering that the law makers in Congress answer to Big Pharma. Long term the demographics are very favorable to the industry.

Just curious. Since you are doing this with a ROTH why not just buy VTI or VTSAX and be done with it?

LLY is just getting warmed up.

No matter where you are in USA, 90% of us can simply look around. See all those obese people of all ages, see all those fast food places, etc.

LLY has a product that cures that problem.

Demand far exceeds supply.

IMO, the stock will triple by 2030. Factoring in a couple of splits in there.

Unless alternatives emerge.

That is a fair point. NVO is the current legit competition and they make the Ozempic / Wegovy. Insurance pays for some of that.

Zepbound and Mounjaro are the primary USA products made by Lilly. Insurance pays for some of that.

I own both stocks. Due to the supply shortages, three of us have sampled a mix. For me, the Lilly works far better.

Do know two people who have tried the knockoff Wegovy. For one short timer, it is working. The other could not tolerate it.

Bottom line, obesity is a massive issue (hey, a pun). Insurance understands that keeping people thin helps minimize the other super expensive procedures.

Don’t know who makes the Him / Her product, but fat people will probably buy it.

Bottom line for me..they currently can’t make the LLY products fast enough. Demand currently exceeds supply..at full price.

People want to eat junk, not exercise, and be somewhat thin. LLY makes it possible.

Also, I believe the approval in Europe is coming this summer. Don't forget the once a month product in final phases of approval, MariTide, which is owned by Amgen.

As a subset of 'Europe', already moving into Great Britian with both Mounjaro and Zepbound.

If you want to see a group of fat, pale, slobs with boatloads of cash, take a look at those wide and crazy Brit's.

How much more can LLY run up at 20x revenue and over 100x earnings?
Mounjaro was just approved in China.

Thunder, Do you know how many fat people are in China?

I will revise my LLY triples in five years comment.

LLY stock will triple in three years. They have developed the secret sauce.
