The SEC does not want that to happen until Bama gets better in non rev sports….

The Lady Vols sent notice to the nation that there is a new force in the rowing world by finishing second to the long time dominant Texas Lady Longhorns in every event. The average winning margin was around five seconds. So as the Longhorns haul their ninth straight Big 12 Championship trophy back to Austin, I bet they're looking back over their shoulders and wondering about next year.

Well done Lady Vols, well done!

Man, Texas is no joke to sweep the competition like that. I noticed Tennessee held their own against them in some races, finishing pretty closely behind them. In others, Texas dominated.

Congrats to the Lady Vols!

I have often thought (perhaps incorrectly) that Tennessee was not serious about rowing. It was a sport that required a lot of participants to be competitive, thus we could meet our title IX requirement in a sport difficult to watch and cheer. With limited fan engagement it seemed no one really cared.

Our new head coach has quickly flip my jaundiced narrative and has us running with the big dogs...where we should be. I could not be more proud!

I tried rowing. Once. That's all it took to know it wasn't the sport for me. I loved it for the first few minutes, feeling the power and speed as I was in a boat with experienced rowers. But then I very soon began to feel the intense burn. Nope. That kind of pain isn't for me! lol

That experience was neat, though, and certainly made me appreciate the strength and stamina of the amazing athletes who excel in row.
