Dave Ramsey podcast. You get 1 hour daily free (well, 40 minutes). I stick with the free stuff. I listen when travelling or walking/jogging.

I haven't really gotten into other podcasts, but these are giving me ideas. Good topic. Are most of what y'all are mentioning free?

Honestly, after listening to Under the Hood, I prefer it over Car Talk. They've got a lot more useful info but not as much personality. The car talk schtik can get old to me after a while.

Thanks, I will definitely look for it!

Recently discovered a podcast called "Make Dad Read Comics".

Basically a 30 something year old comic fan makes his 60 something year old dad who never liked comics and kinda looked down on them read random comics then they discuss. It's funny to hear the Dad try make sense of comics and the characters for which he has very very little background on and the father/son has me cracking up at times.

There are over 200 episodes already. I started with the first couple then jumped around to stories I was familiar with.

I listened to Adam Carolla everyday for 2 years and when he fired Allison Rosen I was a little bent and realized I'd kinda heard all he really has to offer anyway. It's a fun podcast, but too much of anybody gets old.

I like the Nerdist a lot.

Serial, of course.

Otherwise, I don't really listen to anything.

WTF! with Marc Maron

Great interviews with comedians/writers. Most of the people I haven't heard of, but know their work once they're introduced. He has a way of making people open up and be brutally honest.

Marc is the best. He reposted his Chris Cornell interview tonight. Very good interview. His recent with Bill Paxton and John Larroquette are also most listen to.

I'm not into wrestling but a buddy tipped me to Jim Cornette. He is pretty funny when he goes on political rants. He is liberal but he ain't no snowflake that is for daggum sure.

I actually listen to more podcasts than I watch TV these days.

Some others I like are:

Criminal - kind of like Serial type stories but only single episodes. Sometimes it's lighter fair like the April 20 episode that explores the origins of 420.

Science VS

Science Solved It

Star Talk with Neil DeGrass Tyson

Stuff You Should Know

How I Built That

Hidden Brain

Freakonomics

Depending on who is interviewed I like:
Here's the Thing with Alec Baldwin
WTF with Marc Maron
The Nerdist

There are a bevy of political ones I listen to as well.

If you want a real life version of Serial, go listen to Up and Vanished. It's about a guy that randomly decides to investigate a cold case and suddenly things start moving 12 years after the murder. The case is ongoing and the podcast is in real time.

Definitely not for everyone, but laugh out loud funny with a share of cringe is My Dad Wrote a Porno. You don't listen to learn, only to laugh. And only if you're an adult.

If anyone has small kids some good ones I play in the car for mine:

How Did This Get Made!

3 comedians (Paul Sheer, Raffi from the League, and I don't know the girl) watch a bad movie as homework, then make fun of it. Bloodsport had me in stitches.
