UT football commits NCAA violation

Pearl got fired because he lied.
He got fired because his Athletic Director was a clown and out to get him and therefore did not do his job and protect him from the NCAA as Dickey did. Every program breaks NCAA rules. Those that do not get in trouble have AD's that keep them away. BTW Angel, they all lie as well. Everyone of them. But since there was a picture involved and Hamilton did not prep him, he did what all coaches do. DENY!!! They should have told the NCAA to shove it we are sticking by our coach.

Pearl lied to the NCAA and was protected until he committed another violation and lied about that one to Hamilton.

Meanwhile it is a cesspool in Tuscaloosa, Athens, and Auburn.

But lets worry about donating a single game ticket to charity. SMH.

Actually, they donated tickets to a school they pull recruits from. I see where this rule makes sense. Stupid move by the staffer.

OK, who clicked on this thread thinking we were in major deep "you know what"? Hopefully some Mod somewhere can add these 4 words to the title "by painting the rock"

Same. Then I see it's a complete non-issue, and the OP's statement that violations are "already happening..." They always happen. Secondary and third tier violations happen all of the time, everywhere and are generally self-reported with no penalty. This "news" isn't news at all.

Report the minor stuff and they wont come looking for the major stuff.

Outside of lying to the NCAA they have proved that punishments for recruiting violations do not outweigh the positives of getting away with it. I saw cheat away before going through another 15 years of terrible football.

No, Pearl got fired because our BS pres Cheeks didn't tell Pearl that NCAA had info about the cookout..
Not a big fan of personal responsibility are ya?

Cheek and Hamilton ceartainly didn’t help but he was the one who lied and then committed another infraction.

"An act of generosity resulted in the first NCAA Violation." Pretty much sums up the archaic NCAA.

The staff member probably could have purchased the tickets him/herself, and then donated the tickets, and not been in violation, possibly?

The fact that the NCAA has rules that make it a violation to donate tickets to charity or give a bottle of water to a recruit tells you all you need to know about the NCAA
