Clocks will no longer stop after 1st downs except during final 2 minutes of a half

I think they’ll be more fake injuries now. Coaches will do whatever they have to.

Clocks will no longer stop after 1st downs except during final 2 minutes of a half

I don’t think it’ll have much of a positive impact. As others have said they’re not cutting down on the commercials. I think we’ll see a lot more injury time outs also. I think it will help when teams are playing smaller schools just to get it over, but in the important games we’ll wish it...

Banks to NFL- opting out of Orange Bowl

A lot of people on here that seem to bash Banks a lot, while he has made some horrible mistakes, he seemed to turn it around and at least turn into a very solid player. I can think of 4 former star players over the last 20 years that straight up killed somebody that haven’t gotten this much grief.

POLL: Which Bowl outcome would you prefer, a victory over Tulane in Cotton or a loss in Orange or Sugar?

Bowl games are so unpredictable sometimes. I’m afraid if we fall to the cotton bowl, the team will view it as a let down and will be less motivated to play their best. It happens every year and has several times to Tennessee. But I think they’ll also be more opt outs for us as well...

    Fire all the SEC refs!

I saw that too, I was thinking the only thing on the replay is showing is Florida player hand in our guys face.

Cade Mays looking for an NIL deal that would pay him “third or fourth round money”.

I think that is what the NCAA was hoping for, as far as heading off pay for play, but there’s a huge gray area in the fair market value of NIL, I don’t say how they can legitimately argue that a players NIL isn’t worth what someone is willing to pay, especially if lots of other schools start...

Cade Mays looking for an NIL deal that would pay him “third or fourth round money”.

I would think so as well, and I’m sure they’re plenty of donors that want to get benefits for whatever they give. But I would assume that there are also several that give just to win, ones that pony up to pay off to get rid of a coach or who just want to see a win while they are watching the...

Cade Mays looking for an NIL deal that would pay him “third or fourth round money”.

A lot of people saying investments and returns for NIL. I know a few businesses will use athletes for legitimate advertising, but I have kind of assumed that all of this is mostly a farce just to let boosters pay players directly. The boosters that donate large sums of money don’t do it for...

What's the coldest Tennessee game you've attended?

Was at that 2000 KY game in Neyland. Was spitting a little snow. The concession stands we’re selling coffee out of those big yellow igloo coolers and it was like drinking cold stump water. Worst coffee I’ve ever tried, thankfully it was a blowout win and made the cold a little more tolerable.

    Scariest Movie You’ve Seen?

Good thread, I love horror movies. Not many that really scare me, but as I’ve gotten older certain scenes in some movies are kind of rough and cringy that I don’t feel comfortable watching them, several aren’t even in horror movies. With that said, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one...

    ESPN At It Again

What bowl games are you speaking of? He was 3-1. Only lost to Nebraska. He torched Northwestern and Va Tech. He played very well against Ohio St, just not as much stats because it was a defensive game. That’s still probably the best bowl game I have seen that wasn’t for a title, both teams...

Loudest game at Neyland you attended

I was at this one as well, some of those plays were insanely loud. When Joey Kent caught the ball over the blitz and took it to the house and the whole last series that Leonard Little destroyed Kitchens were crazy.

Loudest game at Neyland you attended

I agree with a lot of you, 98 Florida. From the 90s to the mid 2000s, it was like a one game season. Those Florida home games were just different, the crowds and the volume.

    RIP College Football

Actually, I would say Miami was that dominant for around a 20 year period. They had 5 natl titles with 4 different coaches, and I don’t know how many conference titles, and several years they played for a title if they had won the bowl. I would say from early 80s till 2002-4 was about as...

    Salaries for college athletes

I think that you’re right, it is going to happen at some point if college football is going to continue at the big time level. I wonder when it does come to that, will they be like full time staff where they get paid and get their college paid for in the form of fee waivers, like some staff...
