If Clark is not a dominant, generational player, then who is? She's at the top of the convo for best offensive player ever.

Clark career averages:
28 ppg, 7 rpg, 8 apg, .608 TS%

Moore's best season:
23 ppg, 8 rpg, 4 apg, .610 TS%

Lobo's best season:
19 ppg, 11 rpg, 2 apg, .595 TS%

Parker's best season:
28 ppg, 11 rpg, 3 apg, .581 TS%

Taurasi's best season:
18 ppg, 6 rpg, 4 apg, .585 TS%

I expected TRex to be much higher.

Your post brings up a few questions for me. I would appreciate it if you would answer all of them.

1) You said “the GOAT of women’s college basketball has been over.” What does that mean?

2) Who do you think is the GOAT of women’s college basketball?

3) Which “truly dominant, generational player” (or players) won championships when they were not on the best team?
1. It means Clark is eliminated from the GOAT discussion. You aren’t the GOAT with just personal awards. Is Maravich EVER mentioned as the GOAT of men’s college hoops? No he isn’t.

2. Breanna Stewart

3. Your question is ridiculous. Put it like this. Truly great, generational players make those teams great. They also elevate the players around them.

But Steph is never mentioned as the GOAT besides being the best shooter of all time. Why? Because basketball is more than shooting.
She's third all time in assists. In the history of womens basketball. Your post shows you know nothing on the subject. Only a shooter? Laugable. It's the same as when people claim Wayne Gretzky was only a scorer. Once you hear that then you know the person is clueless.

So if you are the best scorer. Which she is. The best shooter. Which she is. And third best distributor of the ball ever, which she is, then what are you talking about?

You’ll have to excuse him, he doesn’t actually watch sports.

And kudos on the Gretzky call out. My favorite sport stat of all-time is if you took away every goal that Gretzky scored in his career, he’d still be the NHL’s all-time points leader. That’s truly mind boggling.

Thank you for answering my questions. I’m sorry you think my 3rd question was ridiculous, but I said that the best team wins, not the best player, and you said “unless you have a truly dominant, generational player,” which clearly implies that you think at some point, an all-time great player caused her team to win, despite not having the best team. Be more clear with your words, and you won’t get “ridiculous” questions.

If you are talking about GOAT for ladies BB, then it's Pat Summit. Basically invented the sport, both as a a player and coach. There are only a handful who played, coached, has an Olympic medal.

I rarely bag on the WNBA, and I'm hesitant to do it because it's one of the lamest trends right now, but there is so much envy surrounding CC. Imagine Zion at Duke tearing it up and several NBA players saying, "It's not going to be this easy when you get to the league, bro." Why are there so many WNBA players like this? Of course, it's harder to play against professionals. They act like they are saying something so insightful.

Caitlin Clark is a big reason they have chartered flights now! They should be buying her dinner.

Based on the comments many have made over the years, I don't think microeconomics is their strong suit.

You're right - it's like golfers complaining about Tiger Woods when he came on the scene. Was he better than all of them? Yes. Did he put more money in everyone's pocket? Yes.

20 million Nike deal -- they need to sell alot of womens shoes
Over how many years? if it was a 1 year contract then she got one over on them.. but its not its 28 mil over 8 years and a signature shoe. Trust me they will make that money back instantly. They don't have to make it selling her shoes perse just get more women engaged and on the bike train. 3.5 mil a year is nothing to Nike. Most NBA players with signature shoes are getting over 11 mil a year with Lebron at 32. Dwayne Wades been retired for years and gets paid 12 mil a year for his shoes. Nike is making a very smart investment and if it pays off it pays off for a lot of future female players. If her shoes catch on..because women and shoes are kind of a lucrative market.

Would be more like if Zion at Duke brought in a flood of casuals who just started following the sport, and then talked about him like he’s the best player on the planet before he even plays a second in the NBA. I could see why that would be annoying and think there would be pushback in that scenario too.

(Also probably annoying that Brittney Griner getting harassed in airports wasn’t enough for charter flights, but the idea of it happening to Clark is)

Ultimately, why do they care what casuals think about CC? A flood of casuals entering their sport is great for them financially, and they've complained about a lack of fan support for years.

Do they want more people to watch the WNBA just because? If you want to generate more fan engagement, you need something that moves the needle.

Either way, the root of it is still petty jealousy.

They got chartered flights for the wrong reasons? Why should Clark get any resentment at all for that? There is something wrong with people that respond this way.

Of course, give CC your best effort and talk **** to her on the floor, but this is just so petty and I think hating on the successes of the younger generation is a loser's way.
