Grading the new CFB hires....

Yea, do you remember that other one that we thought was him too? I was trying to think of the name but just can't. He was a little "slower".

Can’t keep track of the crafty rascals! They’re like those Russian identity theft rings. :pinch:

Around the same time as Booker?
Everytime 1 goes, the next shows up like clockwork.

Even before him. Haha forgot about him though.

It doesn't really matter, he was more funny than anything. I'll try to do a search and see if I can come up with it.

You “think”? Different confidence level than your original post. :) Maybe you have cognitive ability in that noggin after all.

Oh, I KNOW we could have grabbed one. After all, “everybody’s got a price!”

Help a brother out Jack, what was that other alt you used back last year? Same time you used the other two. He was kinda slow and handled the night shift. Member?

Iknox takes it seriously, he does the full personality with each character.
If they gonna troll, I want the full experience.
He did respond under the wrong name once but other than that..

BTW, I know you won't get into it and I respect that, but you are taking care of yourself, right?

Thanks for asking man.
It's chronic so there's always gonna be bad times but yeah, following orders and doing well 90% of the time.

Still read you guys everyday, just post a little less. Don't always have the energy for the back and forth. You, Butchna and JP seem to have it under control 😇

No alts man. Not enough time. If I wanted to troll I’d at least go to a place where the members had a sense of humor.

Yeah...we’re humorless.

Disagree. Forget about Penn State. He went 1 game over .500 at Rutgers and sucked ass in the NFL. Not to mention his little antics against his own players and opponents.

I'm glad we didn't get him, but dude it's Rutgers... Win more than 4 games/year there and you're a good coach. Success in the NFL has almost zero correlation with being a good college coach. Ask Spurier and Saban.

And some people don't understand this or refuse to. Yes,a lot of first time head coaches fail but a lot of experienced one do also. It's all about timing and the right situation.

We've got one of the best examples - Doug Dickey. As a first time HC at Tennessee he took a disaster and turned the team into a champion. Then as an established "sure thing" he failed miserably at Florida. Majors came to UT as a "sure thing", and was mediocre for at least six years - today that would have ended his tenure before it got better ... during the even years.

Never saw that movie, so I watched that clip. Explains alot, but not why you have a half neckit Kurt Russell as your avatar. I don't really care though.

Anyway, I like Pruitt and I think 7 is fair. Who knows? I'd rather have him than a couple others above him, but that's just me.

I really wanted Chip when we first started our "wish lists". But like I've already told you, after everything that went on, I'm tickled pink we didn't end up with Doeren. Can you imagine? That almost happened.

It was all a big cluster from the start and the UTAD was hamstrung by a billionaire family that treats Vols football like fantasy league. If we had competent leadership we could have landed Chip or Mullen or <insert coach here>.

Now, I like Pruitt, but let’s be honest we was way down the list and wasn’t getting sniffed by other schools. My main point in all of this is the UTAD still has the same leadership problem and we better sacrifice to the football gods that Pruitt can succeed despite the billionaire puppeteers trying to ruin everything. Otherwise it’s 4 years then rinse and repeat and we end up with a guy like Doeren. At that point I am jumping off the Henley Street bridge.

Chip was never going to be pursued because of the recent show cause just expiring. He even chose UCLA over the Florida offer. Mullen Wasn't picking TN over Flor because of his relationship with their AD. Neither have reputations as great recruiters and Mullen is supposed to be very hard to work for. I'll take Pruitt all day over both. What he lacks in HC experience compared to them he makes up in being the superior recruiter and ability to hire a staff much better than either of them. If we were hamstrung then Gundy wouldn't have been offered what he supposedly was. You really wanted us to hire a HC who bailed on Oregon, then got an 18 month show cause?? That really something you would want to risk? I guarantee the NCAA will keep a watch on him. We don't need that.

An interesting observation, and I honestly don't even know what it means. The recruiting services show that for 2019 Tennessee is sitting at about #20, but UCLA isn't even on the chart ... even in the PAC10 only chart. UCLA was one notch above UT in 2018 even though Kelly was available full time and sitting in prime recruiting real estate and Pruitt wasn't.

Gundy was a PR move by the UTAD to calm the Vol fans because we were about to meet at the UC and burn it all to the ground.

Mullen picked Florida despite hating Gainesville. It’s documented his wife didn’t like dealing with Gators day to day the last time they were there. We could have enticed him here though our reds would probably drive her crazy, too.

I get it. Your opinion is that Pruitt is the very best coach we could have hired and I just disagree there.
