Hyams on Twitter

Um, how else do you expect the first announcement to be made? They will probably tweet a link to a release on UT's website.

There was never anything from any official site or close to official site over the weekend. For all we know this whole thing could have been started as a twitter thing to see how far it would go.

So, I don't understand your original comment in connection with this one.

The Fulmer is close to being named AD blew up over the weekend on social media and then made its way to the news outlets.

Other news related to Tennessee has followed the same path only to have information posted early the next week to contradict everything.

With social media it is hard to tell sometimes if the first report came from someone who may have known something ... or is just a comment from a nobody that takes off and turns nothing into something.

This whole thing about Fulmer could have been:

1. A leak from a source that really does know something.

2. Speculation from someone who thinks they know something

3. Someone trying to push something they want to see happen (e.g. attempt to garner support by making it seem real)

4. A troll job

With social media it is hard to tell the difference.

Jimmy is accurate, usually. Just not real fast.

Him not being really fast with news is pretty much why he is usually accurate......He usually dont drop lines until he is 100% confident in his report. Unlike all the other local media who thinks they have to be the first to break the story. That is how you get false reports.

Could Peyton himself, actually be the next AD? If he nobly served in that capacity for several years, it would be great training for an eventual NFL GM position?

How many AD's can you name that went on to be GM's?
