Hamas vows to turn Israel into 'a hell' as two Israeli women are killed in rocket attacks: Benjamin Netanyahu warns he will step up air-strikes as cross-border violence kill 28 Palestinians, including ten children
Hamas has vowed to turn Israel into 'a hell' after rockets fired from Gaza killed two Israeli women today following a night of cross-border strikes.
The warning came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu 'deplored' the deaths of the two women, adding that Israel would 'further increase both the intensity and the rate' its own air strikes against Gaza.
Two women, one aged in her 60s, the other in her 80s, were killed in Israeli city Ashkelon, while the city's Barzilai Medical Center said it was treating around 70 people. One of the woman was identified by
The Jerusalem Post as Soumya Santhosh, an Indian national working in Israel as a caregiver.
Meanwhile, twenty-eight Palestinians - including ten children - have been killed in Israeli strikes, according to health officials in Gaza. The Israeli military claimed at least 16 of the dead were militants, while seven deaths have been attributed to the same family, including three children.
On Tuesday night, Hamas launched around 130 rockets at the southern city of Tel Aviv - the country's second largest city by population - forcing all flights at the city's Ben Gurion Airport to be halted.
Fire billows from Israeli air strikes in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, on Tuesday morning. At least 26 Palestinians - including nine children - were killed, most by airstrikes, health officials in Gaza reported.
