Penalty for bringing alcohol into Neyland

I got caught at the gate last year's GA game with a plastic bottle of Red Stag in my boot. Dude made me throw it away and let me in. Got to my seat and the GA fans beside me supplied me with all the jack i wanted.

I think there is probably a bit more relaxed position on alcohol these days compared to the 90s. Hell, Ohio state is selling beer now.

Back in the 90s there was an enormous crackdown on underage drinking at UT Bars on the strip were getting shut down left and right for serving minors. And at the stadium theyou didn't take kindly to sneaking booze in.

Meh... People are going to drink. It's a freaking college game, which means there's a 99% chance there will be drunk college kids and profanity. Don't want your kids in that environment, don't bring them.

WRONG. That's what bars are for. College football is for everyone to enjoy and nobody wants some loud obnoxious drunk next to them while trying to enjoy the game.

How old are you? 19?

27. And I'm loud and obnoxious when I'm not drunk at games. I'm going shout my head off and enjoy myself at games. Sorry I'm not an old curmudgeon with blue hair like you.

You should know going in that there will be drunk people being loud and non drunk people being loud. Don't want your kids around that, keep 'em at the house.

When I was there in the late 80s-early 90s, there was at least one instance of the KPD pouring out a bottle at every game I attended. I can only recall couple of instances of someone getting the boot, and they were, IMO, deserved.

At the Oregon game a few years back there was a group of very attractive Oregon girls that had two 24 cases of Miller Lite and Natty Ice that the KDP poured down the drain in front of the stadium. Kinda felt sorry for them and gave them some of my private stash once I made it in.

if at gate, they normally will make you pour it out and let you on in. With Students, they can deny you entrance.

If inside, they can escort you out of the stadium.

I would personally never bring a mini bottle into the stadium. But one of the guys I was with stuffed a mini bottle of jack into his crotch. Got through clean.

Exactly, why would you bring it in in your pocket?

Why is it that every obnoxious dickhead thinks that people that don't like obnoxious dickheads are curmudgeons?

If you are 27 and still feel the need to get toasted and be an ahole at a game, you have issues. I am far from a "blue hair" and I assure you if I am sitting close to you and am subjected to profanity and obnoxious behavior, you will feel my size 12 shoe up your ***. I can afford bail and a good attorney. I doubt you can afford either.

Hopefully by the time you hit 30, you will have matured some. Your Mommy will be so proud of you. :loco:

Speaking of sneaking booze into games. Is alcohol available for purchase at BMS this weekend?

In the old days (did I just say that?) in the 60s and 70s there were whiskey bottles all over the stadium after the games. Many still had booze in them. Everyone that wanted to drink did and no one cared. Except the person that occasionally got barfed on.
