With Freaks permission I've placed the grades on a spreadsheet so we can see development, consistency week to week, progression/regression (hope, no regression). I broke it up showing different groups (qb, rb's, wr's, OL etc.)

So here goes hope it transfers from Excel.

Looks like it didn't work, must have done something wrong, I'll talk it over with Freak and we'll work it out, I'm sorry for the confusion.

Paste it in wordpad first to make sure it keeps formatting.. notepad++ can also work. If copying and pasting from those does not work save it as a csv and open in notepad/wordpad and paste from there

You mean you guys can't read this? It's like looking at the Matrix.

PFF is absolute crap. Let's start with calling JG's week 1 performance Above Average while we converted 1/12 third-down conversions. This week, they would have you believe that every single offensive lineman other than Wright played significantly worse against Missouri than they did against South Carolina. I'll get my player evaluations from somebody with a clue, and it isn't PFF.

I totally agree with Tupi on this. According to Gray it was nice running behind a line that just opens up holes entire game and at times not being touched for 5 yards plus. Those are Grays words and I would take his assessment on the line over this PFF crap. Hard to believe that entire line is graded below average but yet we are #2 in the SEC in rushing yards. How does that happen according to the PFF grades?

Hard to argue with most of their assessments without actually watching every snap for every player, which is what they supposedly do.

Tennessee fans right now likely have a rosier assessment of where we really are simply because it’s been so long that we actually fielded a team that looked like real SEC athletes.

This coming weekend will give us a really good idea where we are as a program relative to the elite of college football. Hopefully, we’re close enough to really being back that we can give the dawgs a game.

For those of you questioning the people who call Alontae Taylor inconsistent. I was told I was stupid for not thinking Alontae is an elite cb at the moment

I said the same thing to my brother during the game. I know he’s made some big plays for us but he’s been burned a lot also. He’s kinda reminding me of Nigel warrior. Warrior had an up and down career and was obviously limited athletically (by elite sec db standards)...but was a scrappy guy that got himself into position to makes plays especially late in his career. I think alontee can help us out but he doesn’t need to be in an island against a good sec wr.

Take a picture of it with "snipping tool" too. Seems to be the easiest for me. I did it for my recent Depth Chart thread and it worked fine.

I appreciate your help, What is a snipping tool?

I tried to link it, but it scrambled it again, IDK. I definitely lack some computer skills, I didn't keep up with changes since my stroke in 2013. I used to type 150 wpm, now it's about 10. I hope and pray no one on here has to go through a stroke.

How can Trey Smith and Cade Mays and everyone else on out OLine be average or below average when infact Trey Smith is probably the best guard in the league and is a round 1 NFL draft player? Who does the grading?

I appreciate the effort in putting this together, so have a like, even though I think PFF grades are usually very off. Wayna had a stellar game Saturday, 58.2 is ridiculous

Bennett gets the highest defensive grade and I only noticed him a couple times.

Trey's grade seems low even though he did play poorly by his standards.

I actually think these grades are halfway decent. In any event, they are fun to disagree with. @Bennessee01 thanks for posting these.

1. They grade them on every snap they play. So a guy that made a few flashy plays but messed up a bunch of other assignments might not grade out as well as a guy that just did his job every snap and never showed up in the boxscore. They watch WR's on running plays. They also watch the guys that don't get the ball thrown to them. So a guy that runs a great route gets separation and is open gets credit for that also. Because that matters. it also factors into the QB's score. Did he miss receivers that were open? Force the ball in when he had a check down?

2. they take into account things a lot of fans don't like for instance what scheme do they play and are they taking care of their responsibilities? i.e. you may think a DL in a3-4 not getting 50 sacks a game sucks but they are lo9ooking to see if he is eating up blocks to get his linebackers clean and shedding blocks to stuff the run. Their rating is not taking into account the score or anything else going on in the game just what that guy is doing on that snap. So yes for the sake of these forums PFF numbers are kind of useless because they are very complex numbers that only make sense in context.

One also must note that the numbers don't mean a lot in a vacuum and don't take on a lot of meaning until you have a big sample size and understand what they are actually measuring. The more snaps it covers the more accurate it paints a picture. There is a reason these numbers are used by a lot of scouts.

Really? Did he say so?
He better not on volnation!
I riled up a few for saying I don’t think the OL has been up to what was expected so far, in the O-line thread!
Interesting that the PFF seems to agree

For those who think PFF is a bunch of crap, you simply don't have to read it. If you wish to know how they grade. Here's your link.
PFF Player Grades | PFF

I suggest you go to the link they explain a lot about how they do business.

I certainly don't agree with all their grades from week 2 especially the OL grades, but I don't lose any sleep over it.

I enjoy looking at this chart and I think it is very informative. It probably would be to much work but it would be interesting to see how this compares to our upcoming opponent every week.
Thanks.
