Recruiting Football Talk VII

Isn't H2H criteria against the committee's other criteria of putting in the 4 best teams?

Since on-field results don't matter, then H2H can never tell us who the better team is. In fact, no results can.

It's just the preconceived opinion of some ADs, retired coaches, a professor, and, oh, a trampoline park owner from Kansas...that solely determines "the 4 best teams"

College football is such a unique beast, folks.

We got teams picking their own dam opponents, wildly disparate NIL collectives and athletic budgets, and conference cupcakes that aren’t required to even do anything to improve themselves but just rake in TV money.

And ya’ll think there’s a fair way to name a champion?

The NFL and College football are completely different animals.

College football regular season is GOAT.

NFL has divisions, is smaller, has parity, and even at that the best regular season team doesn’t win.

Same with MLB, college World Series, March madness…. Postseason is a different season.

College football is unlike any other of the aforementioned. Booger’s earlier point proved the contrary. If H2H is some heavy weighted end-all be-all tie-breaker, no one would ever schedule them. I like the marquee matchups during the season. That would go away.

College football is yeah corrupt, subjective, political, and they are the only ones that do have liberties to pick their champions.

Postseason will never be perceived as fair until there is one super conference, four to eight divisions… like the NFL.
We're already down to 4 conferences. 4 more G5s. Top 2 of each division swaps (#1 East vs #2 West) and winners win. No more opinions, just on the field performances. As it should be.

Yes, don't let biased humans choose.

Set defined parameters and let the results decide. Every pro league had this figured out decades ago.

Play another game in a NY6 bowl with your brothers that you’ve worked your azz off with or claim a make believe championship.

I don’t think they’d choose the one you’re thinking.
Is that why so many opt out during bowl season? For the brotherly love. Bowl season matters only as much as they make it. Not sure how they'd have any goodwill towards this season left. Declining a sham bowl invitation and going 12-0 is a powerful statement.

Everyone knew Oklahoma would wax Boise.

Everyone knew Alabama would wax Utah.

Everyone knew USC would wax Tulane.

Everyone knew Michigan would wax TCU.

I don’t even know why we bother playing any games when everyone already knows all the outcomes.
Right, and those saying FSU has no shot, if the second string QB is ready by bowl season then FSU has an outside shot against anybody with that defense.

Keep @Sally out of this.

You can’t set parameters when teams can pick their opponents.

College sports. Are. Not. Fair.

Never has been. Can’t be.

Until we neuter the NCAA and make our own league.

Does everyone realize if Georgia had won FSU would have most likely still been out at 5???? Texas was getting in no matter what by the current metrics.
Another point of ABSURDITY.

FSU was #4 last week. Texas was #7. So Texas beating a lesser opponent than FSU was deserving of them jumping FSU? Especially as FSU did it with their QB3. How does Texas jump 4 spots?

By parameters I only mean each division or conference gets X teams in. Just like the pros.

Up to each team to make the top x spots in their conference or division. Take all of the opinions and polls out of it. Just play football.
