The 1985 Johnny Majors coached Tennessee Vols were one of my all time favorite teams, this team had more grit and moxie than many Vol teams with better records, Talk about Tennesse Pride, this Team had it in spades!

Yep and if Johnny doesn't lose his nerve and go completely in a shell in the 4th quarter of the UCLA game (blew a 26-10 lead w/10 min left) and go even more conservative in the first post Tony Robinson game vs Ga Tech and tie those two games, the Vols should have ended the season as National Champs.

Over the years I have searched youtube for this game. It was posted about three weeks ago and I have just now found it.

This game is what cemented me as a VFL! I can remember where I was, what I was doing and how I felt when Jeff Powell roared down the field in the Superdome.

I lived in S FL and there were literally NO Miami fans to be found until about 80% of the way through the season. They popped out of the woodwork. The question was whether or not they could jump to #1. No talk about the actual game, just their final ranking. It was glorious.

Keith Jackson... Most overrated broadcaster in the history of... well, broadcasters. UT was a 21 point underdog. I was also worried when we went down 7-0. But after that, it was a UT beat down.

We are definitely missing this and I've always thought our current players look small in size compared to the guys we had in the 90s. Maybe it's just how the pads were but just my opinion.
