Through some pain this weekend the pitching was the revelation with Ashley out. Defense needs work. Some better approaches at the plate today.

Not related to the UCF game, but EE had a 51% chase percentage against clemson and with the amount of pitches she threw I figured it’d be in the 34-40% range.

I'd like to know why Leach, Parsons and Gibson are getting time over West. She was one of the best hitters on the team last year.

Leach is playing because, well, she’s a Leach. It’s a family affair.. Look around Aubrey is the GA, and Aubrey’s fiancée is the other GA. There’s two more sisters coming, too. Karen’s loyalty to the Leach family keeps West out of the lineup.

Absolutely false. She came here to be a role player for her final season. When West is fully healthy, they will split time or West will DP. But Leach is currently hitting better than at any point at her career and has the third best average on the team.

You can dislike Karen’s decisions if you want, but she’s not playing someone at a position that she hasn’t earned.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised with Leach so far. And I hope West gets back soon. There is a spot for her somewhere in the lineup, even if it’s in LF.

Sad --- Today, Gabby Sprang came on for Purdue in the 3rd with runners on 2nd & 3rd and UGA leading 4-0. She faced 5 batters -- walk, single, single, single, double. Then she was removed with UGA leading 10-0.

Sad --- Today, Callie Turner came in for Arkansas in the top of the 3rd against Longwood. She had a 4-pitch walk, a first-pitch single, a wild pitch to advance the runners, and a 4-pitch walk to load the bases. Haff came on in relief. The lead runner scored before Haff put out the fire.

She wasn’t feeling well on the first day and had to leave game to go to the hospital but all tests were fine so for precaution, she sat out the tournament. Hope she is back for next week.

Good ceilings but never maximized the opportunity. Was told Turner never bought into the team workouts and preferred her back home training. Sprang is like a 5* QB who never sees the field and hits the portal a few times.

That was a big part of the workout issues. But yes, seemed dad had a heavy hand in what she should be doing.

Ucf just tied Texas and is threatening to go ahead in the 6th 9 9. I don’t think our pitching is that bad the bad fielding was the the real problem. Watching these games a lot of runs being scored. Pitching is the least of our worries behind fielding and getting the offense going.

Texas been through 4 pitchers last one just about took a line drive in the face it did glance off her head. They all really need to wear masks. Side note: O’Leary has really let herself go on weight and it shows in her pitching.
