The 1940 Tennessee Vols

Mine was band captain mid-late 30's. He also had some interesting stories. I only heard a few of the less colorful tales. Have quite a few news paper pictures of those time while he was in the band.

dad never left stands when pride of southland ban took the field. he grew up in knoxville. came back for grad school after the war.

after that he, and later our family, made many road trips back for games before we moved to knoxville and to enjoy the doug dickey days together. i often returned for games during the major years.
