Brandon Willis and Corey Miller, two top 100 players and two talented defensive linemen are both from South Carolina powerhouse, Byrnes High School. After their visit to the school, they both decided learning under Monte and Coach O was too much to pass up. DeMarco Cobbs, the multi-talented and highly rated kid from Tulsa, Ok, also made his pledge to the Vols after the visit. Kenny Stills didn’t commit but he did share his thoughts on the visit with Vol Nation once he returned home to California.
“It was cool. It was pretty much everything I expected it to be. They will definitely be in the mix for me from here on out. The atmosphere was crazy with so many people in there for such a big game. It was a good game to watch but it was too bad for them that they lost to a rising UCLA program.” With the recent commitment of DeMarco Cobbs, it’s unclear if Tennessee has room for Stills. However, conventional wisdom says they would likely accept a commitment from one of the top 10 players in the country at a position of need.
Stills continued to discuss his visit by saying, “I like the way they play. The players buy into what the coaches teach them and it shows on the field. Their defense flies around and hits like crazy and that offense is going to be great once they straighten some things out at quarterback and get some help on the offensive line. Getting Ty Bray is gonna be big for them and those running backs are a wide receiver’s dream.”
From the sounds of it, Stills is going to ride this out and take all of his visits before making a decision. He has visits scheduled to Gainesville, Happy Valley, Oklahoma and has one spot left open, which he may use to head to Seattle to check out the University of Washington. The same UCLA team that he watched roll into SEC country and beat Tennessee while on his visit will be getting an unofficial visit or two as the season progresses.
At a position of need, it is great to have so many top kids looking at your school and the UT coaches are going to have some big decisions to make in the near future. While Kenny Stills is looking around, the staff may fill it with Chris Dunkley or even someone like Kyle Prater because you know the staff doesn’t quit until the letters are in. What we do know is that the Vols are going to be looking real strong at the wide receiver position for years to come. Only time will tell if Kenny Stills is one of those weapons on the outside. You have to think the Southern California connection of he and Tyler Bray would be a nice boost to the future of the Vols.
Vol Nation would like to thank Kenny for his time and we will continue to follow up with him as his season progresses and takes his visits. This one may take some time but know that the Vols should be in this until the end.

Good article. But “of he…”- what bad grammar!
