While the Vols continue their push for top talent from all over the nation the Tennessee coaching staff has made moves up and down the west coast for players in both the 2010 and 2011 class. With the history of the staff coming from back west you’d think the coaches would have an idea on the top talent out west and who they would have a legit shot at getting.

One of those players the staff is going after is ESPN’s seventh best corner in the 2010 class and the nation’s 62nd best overall player in Demetrius Wright (Corona, CA).

Wright has been a normal fixture on the Corona team as a senior. The 6’1 185 pound corner has had to step into an offensive role while also playing multiple positions on defense to help the team.

“This year I’ve played everywhere,” said Wright. “I am playing corner, safety, linebacker, running back, wide receiver, and even a little bit of quarterback. I just do what I got to do to help the team out.”

While Wright has visited Tennessee before in the past VolNation.com caught up with him to see where he stands and if there is truth about another possible visit this weekend.

“I went awhile back and I really enjoyed my visit to Tennessee,” states Wright. “I’d like to come back and I am working towards getting out there again this season but the rumor about me coming this weekend is false. I’d like to, but I am in the process of saving up the money to get out there again. I really enjoyed everything when I was there earlier this year and I want to get out there again.”

While a trip is in the process of being planned Wright also talked about his thoughts on Tennessee.

“They are still a top school for me,” said Wright. “I have them and SC on top right now with Washington close as well. I was treated really well out there and I like the future of Tennessee and am just going through the process.”

While being a top school for Wright and another visit in the works it looks like the Vols would be the front runner but that was shot down.

“I am still totally open to my top three schools,” said Wright. “I am working on trying to get to SC for another unofficial and I’d like to see Washington again as I really enjoyed that visit as well.”

So while Wright is working towards making it out to Tennessee again and this time on his own dime VolNation.com will be there to keep you updated.
