Not only did the Tennessee Volunteers dominate the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday but they also played host to a group of big time commits. Among the recruits on hand was a pair of committed defensive linemen from South Carolina. Corey Miller and Brandon Willis were on hand for their official visits about 6 weeks after they committed on their unofficial visits to Knoxville.

With their commitments already firmed up, this weekend was more about watching the team prepare for a big game and taking in another weekend in the place they will spend the next few years of their lives. Corey had a lot of good things to say when Vol Nation caught up with him to discuss his visit.

“I had the time of my life man. That place is crazy. I love the fans, the team, the coaches and a lot of other things about the University of Tennessee. There is no doubt in my mind that Tennessee is the place for me.”

Corey went on to discuss the trip and how it all played out for him and the other visitors.

“We got in and got ourselves situated before heading out for some meetings and then it was time to focus on the game. The team and the coaches did a great job of preparing and it was great to watch it all happen right before our eyes. I think the others (recruits) were impressed as well. I wouldn’t be shocked if some of my new friends became Vols real soon.”

As far as the game went, Miller and the recruits were impressed with what they saw there as well,

“Man, we put it on them hard. Those early mistakes by the Gamecocks made it real hard for them to make up any ground. It’s not exactly easy to do against a Monte Kiffin defense and it showed. I cannot wait to get back and jump in and see what I can do with coaches like that. I think something special is brewing in Knoxville,” said an excited Miller.

Miller spent part of Sunday with his future coaches and discussed how they see him fitting in with this Vols defense.

“They think I have what it takes to come in and compete. They obviously show no bias towards young players. If you are good enough, you will be out there and I think I have what it takes. It’s going to take a lot of hard work but I am blessed to even have this opportunity and cannot wait to get there in just a few months.”

Welcome to the Vols, Corey. It’s really gonna be nice to watch you on Saturdays next year. With Brandon and you anchoring each side of the defensive line it’s going to be nice. I hope everything works out for you to get here early so you can get spring ball in with the team. Welcome!
