The 2011 recruiting class is a shaping up to be filled with plenty of speedsters and guys who can play multiple positions all over the field. For Tennessee they are making a big push to land multiple players who are labeled ‘athletes’ to help shore up some short comings on both sides of the field.

One player the Vol staff is on early is Dominique Terrell (Manassas, VA/Osbourn Park HS) who is a member of the 2011 top 150 watch-list. The Vols have been sending Terrell lots of mail and seem to be on the eyes of these talented player who plays all over for his high school team.

“Oh ya I hear from Tennessee a good amount right now,” states Terrell. “I get stuff in the mail from them and from a lot of schools in my area. I hear a lot from the ACC schools, Pitt, UCLA, Miami, and (Virginia) Tech. I’d say they all send me stuff on a regular basis. I have no favorites though right now.”

Terrell might only be 5’9 but that hasn’t stopped colleges from coming after him because he is so versatile. Terrell plays quarterback, running back, slot, safety, and also returns kicks.

“I like having the ball in my hands so I love playing quarterback but I also like returning kicks as I see the field well. Some schools like me at quarterback but I am hearing from a lot of schools for all over. I like playing qb best though because I can beat a team from the pass or the rush.”

While Terrell is only a junior the official written offers are coming into his hands.

“I have offers from UCLA, Tennessee, Duke, North Carolina, Miami, Va. Tech, and also from Virginia,” says Terrell. “I am open to all schools right now.”

While Terrell is working on finishing his junior season strong he talked about what he likes about the Tennessee program.

“I see them on TV all the time and I can tell things are looking up out there,” said Terrell. “You can see the crowd supports the team and that’s huge. I like how crazy it seems on TV at the stadium. The offense is really fitting to me and I like the new coaches and the direction they are taking the team.”

While not being to Tennessee Terrell states he’d like to try and camp there this spring or summer. He also plans on attending as many Nike camps as possible while also going down to the US Army All-American camp this winter.
