in Tennessee Vols Football Recruiting

Denzel PerrymanCoral Gables, FL.- Junior standout Denzel Perryman has been a hot topic and has seen his stock rise since his sophomore year. He boasts 15 offers at this time, and holds offers from some of the nation’s elite programs. At 5’11” 201 lbs he has outstanding size and range to cover the field sideline to sideline. He’s being recruited by all universities to play outside line backer. His vision, speed, and hard hitting style makes him a great fit for that role. We caught up with him to get the latest regarding his recruitment.

“Well I kind of have an early top 6 I have put together. Florida, Tennessee, Miami, Florida State, Alabama, and Georgia. Those are the schools I am most interested in right now. I would say Miami is recruiting me the hardest right now. They are sending me a lot of mail and staying in contact. I was supposed to go to UF this weekend, but I was not able to make it.”

Florida State will host two junior days, in sequential weekends. The first one starts this weekend. Denzel says he expects to be there for this first day.

“I’m expecting to be at FSU’s junior day this weekend. I’m going to catch a ride up there with Anthony Rabasa. We are both excited to go. We both have pretty solid interest in FSU. I stay in contact with coach Eddie Gran every couple of weeks. I like talking to him.”

Although Tennessee was able to make the list for Denzel, he’s not exactly certain where things stand with them right now.

“Yeah I have not heard from the new staff at Tennessee yet. I’m hoping my offer still stands but I’ll need to get in touch and find out. I like the program, they have a lot of tradition up there, hopefully I will be able to check it out some time.”

Besides heading to FSU this weekend, Denzel claims he has no other visits planned at this time. He’s currently just working out and training and also has no plans to participate in track. We’ll continue to stay in touch and follow up after the big visit to Florida State.

agreed !!

denzel perryman sounds like a proto-type tennessee linebacker (wilson, little, mayo, jones, walker, reynolds, numauff, on & on & on). we were linebacker-U long before penn. state ……………… and this kid is interested in the vols without even talking to the current coaches – he is aware of the great football tradition here. give me his number and i’ll call him !!

i understand that coach dooley & co. have stated that they want to be successful right now with our current talent – great, but he should know that recruiting is the name of the game and in the sec, it is year-round and there are no breaks. recruiting great players to knoxville should always be on the agenda.

get it in gear !!!!!!!!!!!

DD AND STAFF BETTER GET OFF THEIR AZZ AND START RECRUITING OR THEY ARE HISTORY. DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. RECRUITS ARE SAYING THEY HAVE NOT HEARD FROM TENNESSEE.
