Gainesville, GA.- Georgia is rich with two things this year, peaches and football talent. The state is absolutely loaded with some elite players and colleges are taking notice. Under Armour All American AJ Johnson is a hot commodity in the 2011 recruiting cycle. Originally AJ was committed to play for the Tennessee Volunteers, but after Lane Kiffin bolted for Southern California he opted to open things back up. He is currently working on a top 5 right now and shared those schools.

“Yeah my early 5 right now is Clemson, Florida, and Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Alabama. They are also the schools that are on me the hardest. I’m not sure but I know I’m over 25 offers right now. I haven’t been keeping track. Notre Dame offered me recently, I would love to go up there and visit.”

Tennessee has always been a school that AJ has ties to. He recently was on campus a few weeks ago and shared his details about the visit.

“It went good. I met with the new staff, but it was not a long visit. I watched practice which was cool. I want to hit up some more schools this summer. I know I will take my 5 official visits, they will be from my firm top 5 I put together later this summer.”

A host of schools have been by to check out AJ. He gave us a brief rundown of the schools that have been by.

“Yes sir, quite a few. Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Illinois, LSU, Notre Dame, and quite a few more.”

Spring ball is almost over for Gainesville. All that remains is their intra-squad spring game.
