Tennessee center James Stone earned Freshman All-America honors Wednesday from Sporting News.
Stone saw action in 11 games and started seven contests as a true freshman, including three at left guard and the last four at center. The Nashville product anchored UT’s offensive line during the team’s 4-0 effort in November to become bowl eligible.
Since the switch, the Vols have allowed just six sacks, including none at Memphis. UT averaged 435 yards of offense during that span.
Stone’s honor marks the second consecutive year that the Vols have placed an offensive lineman on Sporting News’ Freshman All-America Team. Last season, offensive tackle Aaron Douglas was selected to the squad.

Glad for Stone. How come starting Right Tackle for 12 games and every snap Jawuan james did not make the team. Just wondering what formula they used for that one
