GREENVILLE, S.C. – University of Tennessee senior defensive lineman Marlon Walls has accepted an invitation to play in the 2014 College All Star Bowl onFebruary 14, 2014.
Walls joins fellow defensive lineman Corey Miller in representing the Vols at the game.
The duo will be the first Vols to participate in the game, which is held at Palladin Stadium on the campus of Furman University and will be broadcast live at 6 p.m. on the CBS Sports Network.
Walls had a strong year on the defensive line playing in 11 games. Of his 20 tackles, 7.5 were for a loss including 4.5 sacks. Walls’ sack total was second-best on the Vols in 2013 and his TFL total was third.
Walls had the best game of his career in the Vols’ upset of #11 South Carolina as he posted 2.5 sacks. In his career, Walls played in 40 games, making 57 tackles with 11.5 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks.
This year, the College All Star Bowl will feature the Nationals, led by Clemson National Champion Head Coach Danny Ford, and the Americans, led by College Football Hall of Fame Head Coach Willie Jeffries of South Carolina State.
This year’s teams will be determined by a unique player draft conducted by each team’s coaching staffs and by the bowl’s scouting department.
