in Tennessee Vols Football Recruiting

Corey Miller

Corey Miller

As the Vols season continues on and more and more players are taking notice of the transformation in Knoxville, the future is looking brighter each week. It was never brighter than the weekend of the UCLA game. Sure the Vols lost a tough game to the Bruins but how could you argue with the recruiting success the team had that weekend? The staff was able to secure commitments from three of the best players in the class of 2010. In addition to DeMarco Cobbs, the staff was able to get two of the top defensive line prospects in the country to give their pledge to the Vols.

Byrnes High School in South Carolina is well known for its football program and the amount of talent it produces. Fortunately for the Vols and their fans, the program was able to get Corey Miller and Brandon Willis to commit to the University of Tennessee after their visits that weekend. Vol Nation was able to catch up with the Byrnes stars as they prepare this week for their game vs Florida’s St. Thomas Aquinas High School in a matchup of the top two rated high school programs in the country. Here is what Corey Miller had to say about his commitment to the Vols and his reasons for doing so…

What were the biggest reasons for choosing to play your college ball in Knoxville?

Corey Miller- Overall, it is just better place for me as an individual for the next 4-5 years and a chance to play for Coach Orgeron and Monte Kiffin is one that not many get and it was something I couldn’t pass up.

What are you most excited about when you think about college?

Corey Miller- Just the whole experience in a nut shell. Playing at Neyland Stadium in front of 107,000 will be unreal. Mostly coming in early in January and getting an early start on things in order to get accustomed to all things

How is your senior season going so far?

Corey Miller- My senior year is going great! Team is 5-0, classes coming along well. Just gotta finish strong. We play the number one team in the country next week so that will be huge.

What is Corey Miller going to bring to UT and the football program?

Corey Miller- Just an average player trying to prove himself. A guy that’s gonna do whatever is asked of him and work to the best of his potential to make a difference on the team.

Is there anything you want to say to the fans at UT?

Corey Miller- I think I speak for the both of us when I say Brandon Willis and I are coming in to be the best we can be and hopefully make you proud as fans and take UT back to the top.

As you can see here, Corey Miller is a very solid young man who remains humble through all of his success and has a very bright future in front of him. When you are able to get kids like this that have loads of talent, a great work ethic and a desire to make himself and his team better at every turn, you are going to reap the benefits once he gets into the program.

Vol fans should be extremely excited to have Corey as a member of the Vols’ recruiting class and should expect nothing but the best once a player of his caliber is able to work with Monte and Coach Orgeron.
