Miller has been recruiting like crazy for Tennessee, where he enrolled a couple of weeks back and so far he feels really good about the things that are happening.
“You know man it has been a wild ride. There is no doubt about that. With everything that has gone on, it has presented me with some unique challenges but each one of them was overcome through my faith and my desire to make the University of Tennessee and the football program a better place.”
With the attrition that has happened around him and the landscape changing daily with coaches and recruits in Knoxville, Miller has done his best to stay focused on the task at hand.
“For me, I am an early enrollee, so I have had to deal with the challenge of being away from home, starting college classes and working out in a college workout program all at the same time. It has been a challenge for sure but if life throws challenges and tests at you every day and if you don’t learn to deal with them you are going to be in a world of hurt.”
Miller has been working on keeping the class together and is doing whatever he can to represent the university in the best manner possible.
“You can bet I have been working the phones and putting in my time. A lot of people have over reacted but I guess it is justified. Some people felt betrayed and left at the altar but for me, Tennessee was always the right place no matter what was going on around me. I am trying to find the guys who feel the same way and I think Coach Dooley has done a great job already and he will have everything in place sooner than later.”
While his former high school teammate at Byrnes High (Duncan, SC) and former Tennessee commit, Brandon Willis gone to North Carolina after the coaching change, Miller understands what happened and wishes Willis the best.
“Brandon had to do what was best for him and his family and I know he always liked UNC in addition to UT. I think with everything that happened it just made more sense for him to stay in the Carolinas and get a great education. Either way, he is still my boy and we are both going to be successful.”
Miller says there are some good things ahead for Tennessee as singing day approaches and spring football is just around the corner.
“I think Coach Dooley and the rest of us will have our hard work paid out on signing day. We have lost some big time athletes but I think we are going to be able to replace them with some great talent. I can’t wait for it to come and go so we can get on and represent the University of Tennessee on the field and put the rest of this to bed.”

What a great story. You want to know what a winner is, well there you have it. If Corey translates that team attitude into the workplace, then he will have a great future. This story does my heart good. Corey, if you read this, man, your welcome at my house anytime. Hats off to your parents for raising a son that other people can be proud of. Shoot, I might just go home and kiss the wife.
Corey, you are a credit to the great University of Tennessee, your faith, and your parents. We are better for having you on our team. Thank you for being such a class act and tirelessly fighting for our football program. Can’t wait to see you lighting up opponents on the field this fall!
Awsome! Can’t beat that…
