Anyone else a little irritated...

What frosted me was that all the ticker and the talking heads on ESPN and CBS had to say about UT was "Tennessee lost its 21st straight conference game on the road." The way they spun it, you would think that the game was a blowout with Gurley running all over us every play for 4 qtrs... instead of breaking big runs in the 4th when our D was gassed. They had to work to make the facts fit their narrative.

It doesn't matter what they say or think, we lost that game with our fumbles (none courtesy of Arian Foster by the way), GA did not beat us. just my opinion

The play of the game that no one is talking about is the punt that was downed inside a foot of the goal line.

They will show the fans breaking down the goal posts for 3 seconds this weekend.

If we win, I guarantee the "story" of the game will be how it affects Will Muschamp's future and possible candidates to replace him to bring UF back to glory.

We won't get credit for nearly beating Georgia in Athens unless we beat Florida to end the streak. The media is holding out because we seem to lose that game no matter what and look bad doing it. In their eyes, giving us props before we play Florida is premature. If we win, there will be an explosion of media love for the Vols as they start to hype the Ole Miss game, and the talk about how our unforced fumbles handed Georgia a game we would've won will start.

IMO, ESPN is trying to cover it's own butt because it knows it should have selected UT/UGA as a primetime game instead. By recapping the game the way it did, the game didn't seem as close as the score suggested.

We will get the attention of the media when we defeat Florida this weekend.

I hope that you’re right but I’m not so sure. When we win, there will be some like Pennington, Hyams, and Hodge as well as some here on VN will explain it as, well Florida is not a very good team.

Agree. As down as UF is, i dont think ESPN or anyone else will give much credit for beating them. Maybe I could see it if the game were a complete (ex. 42-10) blow out, but other than that, i dont. JMO.

That every station that did a re-cap of our game yesterday only showed the one single Gurley run and said simply, "Georgia wins a close one in Athens".... Our kids fought too hard not to have a little more of a fair breakdown of the game....

SEC Network and ESPN did nice breakdowns of the game and all the analysts, even Lou, were very complimentary of the Vols.

To Mark Richt's credit, he gave the Vols credit for their play and toughness along with his team.

I saw that and thought that was classy. Maybe he learned since the time his players did the whole stomp thing on the field and were called for unsportsmanlike penalty few years ago.

Until we actually win a real game...we should not receive much attention. "Moral Victories' aren't news...

This unfortunately. No one gives a damn to here how hard the kids played other than people who are fans of that team.

It will be the tale of two programs. One on the rise and one in a major downward spiral. God please let us Butch slap Florida. I live in Florida and want to shut up these arrogant Florida fans. Now that their program is down their new mantra is "when is the last time you guys won a title?'

I just don't want to beat them, I hope we run away with it and release 9 years of frustration in 60 minutes on them.

The "highlights" have become simply a commercial for the next game they intend to hype, so they sensationalize whatever team makes them the most money. Perfect example was ESPN saying that "Ole Miss routs Memphis" when the game was 7-3 in the fourth quarter (yes I hate Ole Miss). Gameday is at Oxford for the Bama game this weekend so they couldn't afford the thought of Ole Miss being that vastly overrated.

I am irritated that when comparing schedule strength the last 3 years we are getting screwed. Ex. Compare Ha vs UT the last two years, it makes me sick!

It will be hard for them to do any coach recruiting during the season unless there is an unemployed coach avalailable. This will equate to a significantly diminished recruiting class for them in 2015. Likely coach hire in December with only 2 months til national signing day. New coach will equate to entire regime change and even recruits that they have now may bail since position coaches will be gone.

Some good coaches are just not cut out to be head coaches. Requires additional skill set that few possess.

Weis is available. :)

EDIT: Someone beat me to it. I guess now that Urban Meyer is going to live, they can go after him again. :)

Sometimes it's better to be the grey man. I would rather go unnoticed and drop the hammer on someone than to have a bunch of hype surrounding us because that's when people just wait for you to fail.

Remember the last time we were ranked? Yeah...

Offensively, they are a mess

Their front seven is one of the best

Secondary is weak, except for Hargreaves

They were 4-8 last year

They aren't very well coached

So if we beat them, we beat a team that is either par with us or a little under

If we lose, its not like we got beat by a great team
