The Walking Dead

I believe Gabriel lures people to the church, and in exchange he receives food and supplies from this mystery group running around in cars with crosses on the back windhshields. They take whoever Gabriel lures there...

I think that could explain the "you'll burn in hell for this" etched on the church.

Another explanation for the etching could be that his parishioners came running for aid and he barred the doors and hoarded the food bank food for himself.

I think your second idea is spot on. He freaked and locked everyone out. Probably curled up in a ball in total panic.
Those zombies at the rock may have been his parishioners too :hi:

I think the people that took Beth are totally separate from Gabriel and the terminus group

Him locking people out also fits what he said to a creepy T. Technically, he hasn't done anything bad, he just never did anything good either but locking them out.

None of these Gabriel explanations tells how he's been in the church so long and supposedly no swarms of walkers have gathered there trying to get in. Once the walkers realize you're inside they don't just give up.

Maybe he's really really quiet. Lol

Yea, I was wondering about that too. This far into the zombie apocalypse anyone who's alive has encountered walkers. And he seems far too incompetent to deal with them on his own. But he says he's been alone the entire time and, while not venturing a long way, he's gone to other places to scavenge food and into that town where the food bank was and knew it had walkers.

His story doesn't add up and I'd guess that's what Rick was keying on when telling Carl he doesn't trust Gabriel.

I think the group and the audience knows Gabriel is FOS. I'll give Carl a pass this time since he's a gullible kid.

Carl has really flip flopped from killing a defenseless teenager and throwing a fit about the Woodbury refugees to trusting anyone and wanting to save every kitten in their path.

It was the pudding.

Went from trusting no one to we have to help everyone!
Kinda figured shooting your hero and your Mom in the head could take a toll on your humanity.

Who knew that seeing your Dad bite the carotid and jugular out of a bad guy and then gut the guy that was fixing to rape you would flip your faith in humanity back on...:)

So does Bob survive the midnight snack of his lower leg or do the terminus finish him off? Hope they ate the bitten part and he does not turn.

I kinda hope that Morgan is the one to take the terminus crew out and return Bob to the group.

Am I asking too much?

After all is said and done, the question will be:

The answer: Bob

Funny. But I hope not. I was told that in the comic series that they ate Dale's lower leg then dumped him back to make a statement to Rick. Would be fine with that scenario. (Dale had been bitten or scrateched in that same leg that they ate).

Dale got bitten in the prison and they amputated his like like Herschel. I know his survived the Gov's attack but that's as far as I've read. Not sure if he got bitten again afterwards. That would have made him a double amputee.

Ug, if you ever search for something on past episodes online, be very careful what you click. Saw a couple pics yesterday that I would definitely consider spoilers.. :banghead2:

Judging by your reaction I guess it wasn't good news at all. I'm surprised spoiler photos are floating around though.

Got this from another board….

There were 42 confirmed on-screen walker kills in episode 5.01 ("No Sanctuary").

That was the third most kills in the 52 episodes to date, only behind episode 3.01 ("Seed") that had 58, and episode 2.13 ("Beside the Dying Fire") that had 53.

I had to freeze frame the explosion scene to count walkers killed in that explosion.

Here are the credited on-screen walker kills for 5.01:

Carol: 11
Unnamed Termites: 8
Daryl: 4
Glenn: 3
Maggie: 3
Tyreese: 3
Michonne: 2
Rosita: 2
Bob: 2
Rick: 1
Sasha: 1
Abraham: 1
Tara: 1

Human Kills:

Rick: 8
Unnamed Termites: 4
Carol: 3

I have not kept human kill stats for the first four seasons. I will someday go back and count those, but for now, I only have walker stats.

Named characters that died in this episode:

Mary (Appeared in 3 episodes)
Sam (Appeared in 2 episodes)

Totals for the series to date:

881 total walker kills

Top 10:

Rick: 133
Daryl: 112
Michonne: 81
Glenn: 56
Andrea: 42 (deceased)
Carl: 35
Maggie: 34
Governer: 33 (deceased)
Tyreese: 33
Shane: 32 (deceased)

Carol moved up to 11th place with 30, and is a sure bet to pass Shane and the Governor soon.

Sasha moved into a tie with T-Dog at 17. Bob moved into a tie with Martinez with 14.
