I watched this kids film when they scrimmaged Riverdale and he is nasty. He is def a LB in college but he cannot be tackled in high school. He just runs through tackles.

De1, from past camps.... The camp MVP's, how have they fared at the next level. Do you have any specific success stories? Just curious.

A few camp mvps hv been Jalen Ramsey(fsu) Orleans Darkwa (Tulane/NY Giants) Alejandro Antoine(MTSU) Jack Jones(UT) Kyle Phillips(UT) Joe Townsend(Vandy) Keyshawn Vaughn (Illinois ) Max Staver (Fla) Dezmond Johnson (Duke/Titans) are a few off the top of my head

Physical Specimen

At 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, Dodson sure looks the part of an SEC middle linebacker. But it wasn't just his size that turned heads Sunday. It was his ability to move in space in the open field. It's rare to see a player his size cover running backs and tight ends in space, but that's exactly what he did all afternoon. Combine his coverage skills with his ability to stuff the run and deliver big hits on the field and it's easy to see why he's spent the spring piling up offers.

Butch has spoiled many here on VN. He has had so much success on the recruiting trail that some seem to feel that we should only offer 5* freaks. This kids film is impressive and IMO we should offer every instate kid that has SEC caliber talent. Will we get them all? No..... Should we sign them all? No..... But we should offer and evaluate every single one.

Even though he missed 3 games last year due to injury, Dodson racked up 74 tackles, 16 TFL, 8 sacks, 3 INTs and 2 forced fumbles. He also rushed for 738 yards and 13 TDs.

Against Franklin HS he finished w/ 16 tackles, 6 TFL, 4 sacks & 1 forced fumble.

Eddie Gran was the rbs coach then and really wanted to offer, but we didn't.

I'm not sure what happened. Ensworth was not well known yet, but Darkwa help them serve notice.

Man actually Kiffin liked Oreleans and Chaney was in love with him. The issue was Ensworth and the shoddy practices of Rickey Bowers. UT and several others wanted film and to see/ visit with Orleans but it was blocked by that prick. At one point we had multiple schools wanting film and Bowers refused to release it. It took Orleans parents to go to the school and make threats to get film. I hate the way that place is run and certain things they do at that school and wouldn't allow a dog of mine to piss on their grass. TD who was a former UT player was coaching there and how we helped land him at Tulane.

Dodson has heard some from the in-state Tennessee Vols, and he's had a conversation with linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen. He's open to hearing more from the Vols but doesn't expect to camp on Rocky Top next month.

"I talked to (Thigpen) once; he said he was going to come to a scrimmage but he didn't show up," Dodson said matter-of-factly. "I would love to hear more from them."

Centennial is my alma mater. Would be neat to see a kid from there get to play for UT. We never had a good team when I was in HS.

Doesn't sound good that the coach told him he would be at his scrimmage then didn't show, might hurt us with him

He was also sharing a backfield with another really good D1 running back who ran for about 3,000 yards his last 2 years. Also a pretty good basketball player. Moves very well on a bball court for his size, was obviously a beast on the boards. Also a quality, high character kid. Would love to see him in orange and white.

Thig did call me and we talked about TD and the results from camp. Myself along with Thig saw TD after signing day. Never once said multiple times at all. But there has neen contact recently about him and his school has sent new film to UT staff.

Kid is blowing up. Now a 4* in the 247 composite, 8th ranked player in the state, and 10th ranked MLB nationally. In the overall rankings, they have him as the 224th ranked player nationally and 295th in the composite.
