Movies you've seen recently II

The Dark Tower .00000000001/10. Just horrible. Its not just that it didn't do the books justice. It was just poorly done from start to finish.

It’s a shame too because the acting was great. But it was super rushed, leaving all kinds of plot holes. If you’d never read the books, then the whole thing would’ve made 0 sense. Even if you had, it made little sense

Watched another film that the "critics" panned and it wound up in my opinion being one of the best films of the year. Mother! 9/10...truly fantastic. The kinetic energy the (now obvious) story had me thinking way after the film finished its completely insane off the rails ride. Great cast, daring unrelenting direction. Hats off to Aronofsky for this one, people that hated it are just simple minded fools.

I'm gonna attempt to watch this tonight. Guess we'll see if I'm a simple minded fool.

Happy death day 5/10

The type of annoying dialog you expect from a teen movie. Was entertaining at times.

Good Time...9/10 great story, tense as hell the whole time. Lots of tight shots Robert Pattinson about as far from Twilight as he could get. The kid can act. Brothers direct and both star in it in a clever way. Recommended

Watched “A Serbian Film” last night.

I vaguely remembered the hoopla about it a few years back (in a similar vein of human centipede) and decided to give it a view. My advice? Do not watch it. Gross, exploitive, disgusting, not sure there are enough negative adjectives for it. One of those films where I was left wondering how anyone could find any sort of artistic merit in it.

Despite its blatant vulgarity, human centipede at least had an air of originality and a basic sense of creative ambition behind it. This didn’t. It seemed to exist simply for shock value alone. The director explained it away as some kind of Serbian political allegory/metaphor. Not sure what to make of that comment. If this abomination is Serbia’s response to social and political strife of the past 30 years, I shudder to think of what art might come out of developing Africa in the coming decades.

Who knows. Maybe some of you guys will see it differently. A buddy of mine (who usually has pretty good taste) certainly did. But I just saw no redeeming quality in it. Total garbage. 0/10

Finally watched Logan. It was really good, but dark and a little gorier than expected (for my boys). One of the best storylines of the superhero movies, imo.

Jungle...8/10 Daniel Ratcliffe in a true story about 3 guys who get stuck in the Bolivian jungle with their "guide." If you like survival movies you will dig it the most.
