...and cool off. Anyone with half a brain could see today's outcome coming. Georgia is an established championship program. We are just about three seasons away from probably the lowest low we've ever been at. We overachieved last year with special talent at critical positions. We lost that talent and we are still building our program. Having a good team one year is one thing but championship programs take time to build up.

We have the number one recruit at QB next year, a great recruiting class, and the transfer portal to raid. Hell, 9 wins with a bowl game victory is still possible and a great outcome considering where we have come from.

Edit: Grammar typos

Granted, Milton misses a lot on his passes, but ya'll.. Missing Bru, Hyatt, Tillman, and now even Thornton gone. Keyton our best reciever. Put Georgia's QB out there with these receivers and it's a different story for Georgia. I like OP's subject - Recruit some receivers (transfer portal) and give Nico some targets next year. Guess what, then you have a running game as well. We are one dimensional (running and bubble screens) at this point. Easier to defend when the passing game is flat, and it's showing.

Edit: And, just in case Nico is good, but not good enough to go to the NFL early, preserving a redshirt could very well be genius and give us another year. Sometimes it's good coaches don't listen to fans.

Don’t come up in here with any type of logic. This place will explode

This team sleepwalked thru virtually every game and looked woefully unprepared for a majority of the season. There was very little development outside of the DLine which shouldn’t come as a shock since Rodney Gardner is the only SEC level coach we have on staff. But yea, the fans should shut up and like it.

We’re in year 15 of a 3 year rebuild

Josh Heupel has lost to Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Missouri by a combined 137 to 53. We need to stop making garbage excuses for him about how “Nico ain’t ready or Nico is just too young.” Or the fan favorite “Milton can throw it over those mountains and he’ll get drafted as high as Richardson.” No, Milton is freaking trash. This team has played like straight garbage in their biggest games this year. No life, no preparation, and no fing adjustments. If this bullsh*t continues next year, yall are damn right Heupel needs his buyout and his walking papers.
And hire who? I say that as someone who questioned him the past two weeks. We couldn't beg people to take this job, do you all forget that? Another up and comer? Yeah, that's worked out great, coordinator from bama again? I mean, who? We had a great year last year, hopefully 8-4 this year, that's not too bad compared to the previous 4 years. If Nico is legit, we should be having more good years. We throw that away, and do what? I'm legit wondering what your mindset is.

The reason why alot of us aren't freaking out like you is becuase we don't believe the losing will continue. Heupel has a track record and his offense will likely revert back to the mean next season with a new QB and a healthier receiving corp. He deserves the benefit of the doubt at this time. And I think it is clear we are limited becuase of QB play and health of our WR corp.

No one is happy with losing by wide margins. But with the way our offensive scheme is set, if it isn't efficient, then things can turn against you really quickly. Our offense is our best defense at times. We were never built to win defensive struggles. Our defense is designed to be agressive and put pressure on the QB. But if the other team has the lead, is running clock, and are comstantly on the field, our defense gets worn down.

One thing I'd disagree with is that I don't think the 6th best recruiting class in the SEC is a "great" class

I think JH is a fine coach, runs a good program and has the potential to be here for a decade or more.

BUT he needs to recruit at a higher level. He's currently recruiting to put us in a position to be somewhere around the the 4th-6th best team on a given season.

All I can say is Tennessee as a whole is in a far better place than when Hart and Currie cratered the program with Butch. Then Pruitt and Fulmer covered the dirt six feet deep. The reason it was so hard the last few times was the Schiano fiasco and then it looked as if Tennessee was going to get a multi season bowl ban. Right now, the industry sees Tennessee as a top 5-7 job in the country. Lanning, Debor, Lieapold, and even someone like Fritz would be a steal. Just look at Barry Odom and his rebirth.

And you're taking a chance, losing recruits, and no idea if those guys would be any better than Heupel, or even Pruitt. Part of our problem is we've had no stability since Fulmer. If we suck in 4 more years, of course we need a change. The next couple of years will tell the tale on Heupel. Yeah, it sucks waiting, but I'll take 8-4 over 3-9 any day.

I think the proof in the names I’ve listed speaks for itself. Debore has lost 10 games total his entire career. Leipold has rebuilt multiple programs. Lanning has Oregon on the cusp of the playoff, again. Shoot, even look at Jamey Chadwell. Knoxville native and ETSU alumni. Elevated coastal to heights never seen before and now taking the program to a level freeze never could.

IMO with what we are losing....our serious OL issues and a QB that will be green as winter rye grass. We might hope like hell we can get to 8-4 next season.

I get the frustration, but he's not going anywhere for a while, minus some scandal.

And the SPs will tell us how thankful we should be to be 6-6. Thankfully our OOC schedule is a joke again in 2024, so we have at least 4 wins.
