Tennessee vs South Carolina Official game thread (6:30 SECN)

Have to question Barnes pulling his big and trying to guard the post with JJJ and Mashack. That gave SC 6-8 points that we couldn’t overcome with our shooting woes

Remove Santi's night and it gets even worse...

6-27 FG (22.2%)
0-9 3pt (0.0%)
6-10 FT (60.0%)

Whatever is hampering JJJ is really killing his offense, hasn't scored double digits in a game since before Christmas. 3.6 ppg over the last 8 and he's playing over 26 mpg.
…hard realization had occurred.

Tennessee played terrible... against a good defense... yet they still had a shot to win it on a really bad night. Chalk the difference up to the Pat Adams show.

This team is much more equipped to make a deep run. We have quality wins against Illinois and Wisconsin. Just an off night and missed layups didn't help. We will be fine
We’ll have none of that voice of reason schtick you’re selling! Nuh uh. No sir!

You’re right. A dozen charity free throws had no effect on a one possession game. Makes total sense.
we shot more free throws than they did and they still outscored us from the free-throw line. Your argument is weak. Quit whining about the officials and accept that we played like garbage tonight and hopefully we can shake it off and start playing better.

Wow I didn't even bother watching this game. A little surprised they would fall on their face at home. Well, bye bye 1 or 2 seed...

Yep. they hit their free throws. It’s a radical concept the Vols may want to try.

It isn’t like that early on in the game. Were you watching? Knecht took over out of necessity. We were down 9 and the only reason we had a chance is because Knecht stopped passing to guys who weren’t doing anything. It took the entire game of garbage offense before knecht decided it was time to take over
You’re all wet - DK didn’t just decide to quit passing. Barnes decided to call his number repeatedly since the other guys couldn’t make good shots.

Officiating does not affect the outcome of a game as much as people like to believe. For about half the game against Vandy it did. But it evened out down the stretch. Tonight had nothing to do with officiating. We shot 36% from the field, 23% from 3 and 60% .....60% from the free throw line. That's terrible. And not gonna win you many, if any games against decent teams.
You are out of your mind regarding officiating does not effect the outcome!!!! I'll leave it at that.
The referees were clearly in our players head. And Barnes made every effort to talk them, but he knew his limitations.

Tennessee gonna be fine tho. It don’t matter what happens in Rupp. They will be fine. I’d say practice probably won’t be much fun at all. Just regroup and get it done. I don’t expect to see that many missed layups again.
Fine as in making the round of 32 or sweet 16? Probably. But home losses like this do not bode well for anything better....

Between Gainey, ZZ, JJ and Aidoo 3 for 20....
ZZ took too many bad shots. 0/6 from the field and 0/4 from beyond the arc. I don’t have a problem with him shooting 4-5 times a game but I do have a problem with his shot selection of late. At best he’s our 4th option on offense. No reason to pop a three pointer unless he’s wide open or we’re under 8 seconds on the shot clock.

If he guy claiming 12 charity free throws didn’t affect a one possession game thinks my argument is weak. Lol okay…
