Thank goodness I didn’t keel over when they surplused me.

Actually, I volunteered for the surplus. Decided to take a break and live off the settlement for awhile. Got some offers and calls from recruiters, but decided to continue my sabbatical. Eventually, I filed for Social Security benefits. I’m OK with not returning to work for awhile, maybe never again. I’ve got a few personal projects to occupy my time. Enjoying it so far.

But it’s WTF…

I don't know if I am permanently banned but yes, I did get kicked off a cruise and sent back while I was in college. I had to go another cruise line the next year in college since I was still on a list.

On news this morning: Carnival will no longer allow anyone under 21 to cruise unless accompnied by someone at least 25 yo.

On news this morning: Carnival will no longer allow anyone under 21 to cruise unless accompnied by someone at least 25 yo.

Other than Carnival (1999), I've done Royal Caribbean (2000), Norwegian (2004, 2012, and 2018) and Princess (January 2020).

Princess is a subsidiary of Carnival so my ban ended in time for my 40th birthday cruise. Or they didn't catch my married name and new driver's license.
