Some fans who grew up in the 90s (as I did) will say that UF is our biggest rival. I would have said that in the 90s and 2000s, but I think it has gone back to being Alabama ever since UF began to decline after Urban left and Saban arrived at Alabama.
The UT/UGA rivalry only became a thing with divisional play in 1992 (as did UF), but the UT/UF game decided the SEC East and SEC Championship for a number of years in a way that UT/UGA did not.
I also think it is interesting that a significant minority of Alabama's fanbase will tell you that they consider Tennessee to be their biggest rival, not Auburn. It's nowhere near 50% (or even probably 20%), but a lot of Bammers will tell you they hate Tennessee more than Auburn, Fulmer in particular. Saban's comments on GameDay last year about him finding it hard to get his team up for Auburn in some years, but never for Tennessee, I thought were interesting too.
Exactly. It's called pedigree and Florida does not have it. They are still new money in my view. It's Alabama and it's really not debatable.
Florida (and Georgia) became a rival in the 1990s due to the divisions being split and those programs being good at the time. But The Third Saturday in October has a rich history of well over 100 years.
Actually, General Neyland was hired to beat Vanderbilt because we were so frustrated losing to them back then and Kentucky had their turn as our biggest rival too when Bryant was there.Kentucky should be on this list, they are an original.

That's the impression that I have gotten too. A lot of Bammers don't have respect for Auburn as a program and consider them to be a less than or a little brother. It is a different kind of dislike. They hate Tennessee too, but see our program more as a peer of theirs.Yes to the TN hate. Living among them most of the Tide fans tell me its TN over AU. They have always considered AU as an AL wannabe school and not worthy to be AL's top rival. The Tide fans I have as friends are reasonable educated ones that understand its sports not life or death. I stay away from the fringe Bama fans. The beach is a good place.
I love that pictureIt’s Bama, it’s always gonna be Bama and if by some odd fate we end up not playing Bama anymore it’ll still be Bama!

I completely agree with your post! I grew up in a Vol family. I remember watching the Sugar Vols on a small black and white TV I was using to play Atari 2600. Growing up, I remember the excitement if they made a bowl game because we were able to watch on TV.We have been down this road several times on this site. Your opinion on this depends on when you became a vol fan, when you attended the university, if you did, and where you may live or have lived. I grew up in TN, lived in GA, FL and now ironically AL. The particular rival is more personnel for you if have lived amongst the fan bases of any of these 3 schools. It really changes your perspective.
Of their fan bases - worst - GA but Bama is the one I hate losing to the most due to history and when I attended the university.
