Some fans who grew up in the 90s (as I did) will say that UF is our biggest rival. I would have said that in the 90s and 2000s, but I think it has gone back to being Alabama ever since UF began to decline after Urban left and Saban arrived at Alabama.

The UT/UGA rivalry only became a thing with divisional play in 1992 (as did UF), but the UT/UF game decided the SEC East and SEC Championship for a number of years in a way that UT/UGA did not.

I also think it is interesting that a significant minority of Alabama's fanbase will tell you that they consider Tennessee to be their biggest rival, not Auburn. It's nowhere near 50% (or even probably 20%), but a lot of Bammers will tell you they hate Tennessee more than Auburn, Fulmer in particular. Saban's comments on GameDay last year about him finding it hard to get his team up for Auburn in some years, but never for Tennessee, I thought were interesting too.

It's Alabama and it's really not debatable.

Florida (and Georgia) became a rival in the 1990s due to the divisions being split and those programs being good at the time. But The Third Saturday in October has a rich history of well over 100 years.
Exactly. It's called pedigree and Florida does not have it. They are still new money in my view.
I remember the late 60's and 70's when Auburn and Alabama were the two biggest games every season.

Kentucky should be on this list, they are an original.
Actually, General Neyland was hired to beat Vanderbilt because we were so frustrated losing to them back then and Kentucky had their turn as our biggest rival too when Bryant was there.
Though Tennessee usually wins those games now, both remain special rivals above schools like South Carolina, Arky, Mizzou or the Mississippi teams.

There is a difference in “rivals” and “big games”.

Bama, UF, and Vandy are Tennessee rivals while UGA is a big game. Same for them, if you ask a UGA fan it will be UF, Aub, and GT as rivals with Tennessee being a big game.

It's Bama based on history but gators are a close second in my book. I've been to the swamp a dozen times over past 30 years and never saw us beat them on the road. Frustrating!
