2025 Transfer Portal

There you go! I’m glad someone said it. Just as with HS recruiting, not all of these players in the portal will be plug and play. Even some of the top portal players will have to adjust as we’ve seen in the past. That is the very reason for years nearly everyone called for HS recruiting to rise from the doormat. That call was answered profoundly and CKC cooked with an elite HS recruiting class.
The most valuable current LV assets are the returnees of Kaniya Boyd, Ruby Whitehorn, Alyssa Latham, Talaysia Cooper, and Lazaria Spearman. These are players that the staff can still get a lot more out of in different areas of their game such as defense, rebounding, ball handling, and facilitating/creating offense in the paint.
That is where player development and talent will come into play which the staff has upgraded tremendously with the HS recruiting class as well.
I am confident the coaching staff can develop, teach, and train these freshmen into consistent shooters from all three levels. Prawl, Civil, Hurst, Mya and Mia all currently possess efficient shooting mechanics and fundamentals. Some of their technique/form will need to be refined and adjusted which I expect will be made in the offseason.
Lol...so does every other team!

As basketball players go, Caitlin Weimar is smooth, smart, and agile - all good qualities, especially for painters. And yet, there are as many questions as answers.

Williams is tough and proven; and, as you pointed out, from a League most approximating the SEC.

There's also the injury/recovery element with Weimar. I would gladly take either player, with the rugged, Big 10 veteran nod going to Williams. For now.
But, if verifiably, fully recuperated, I'd be pleased to get Weimar; with Wes Moore being a primary intangible. He signed her; he knows what he's doing. Which inevitably begs the question - why is she leaving State? And so it goes.

It's easy for me to say, but, patience is, indeed, a virtue. Put out feelers, of course, while eying the emerging Portal. And, especially, the outgoing lane. The market breaks open, in all shapes and sizes after next weekend.

Cheers.
Normally I'd agree with you about Wes Moore, but he also picked up Lizzy Williamson from Southern Utah, where she nearly averaged a double-double (9.6 points and 10 boards) and 2.3 blocks, but she's been pretty much glued to the bench in two years at NC State. We didn't really get a chance to see if Weimar could translate to the ACC better. FWIW, Southern Utah is in a better/more competitive conference than Boston University per Massey (#14 vs. #26).

Hey, I have been wildly impressed by the way our staff has recruited so far. We all have. But even so I have to shake my head every time I read posts here that say "we should get them," as if it's practically a done deal just because we need them. There are probably 50 programs going after each player, folks!

The big names going after Serah Williams UConn, Texas, LSU, Southern Cal, Iowa all have contacted her. I like when certain coaches say they dislike the portal and Nil yet are willing to play the game when there is a player they want. She is ideal for Tennessee we more than likely won't find a better center in the portal this season. She is only a one year player, but well worth pursuing.

The list of schools includes Cal, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Clemson, Miami, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Mississippi State, Florida, Oklahoma State, Utah and BYU.

Did TN reach out?

I have no doubt we are pushing for her. I think she’ll be a hard get for us. Depends on how the tourney goes.

If she wants to get better tbh she should go to Iowa. I think Jan is second to none developing posts. Usually with little to no natural talent.

She should avoid USC at all costs. That’s the Juju show and ain’t gonna change. She’ll regress there.

her Edie can can lottery money ScholarsScholarships
In state students

Her classes are already paid for.

Edie family is probably paying for housing and food
Doesn't hurt that Edies dad is a congressman either. I'm sure both Darbys have had access to the best state scholarships opportunities available in Tennessee.
