2025 Transfer Portal

That's quite an awful charge against the character of someone who went thru the rigorous training this staff prides itself in.

I'm sure you have a solid source to say such a thing. Please share it.
Agreed. If such a player is on the roster, I'm certain CKC would not tolerate it and that player would never see the floor, and our end of bench players in no way fit that profile.

Portal is going to be loaded if any player chooses to leave we'll replace. I don't see anyone going to the Nil desert that is Missouri. We may lose two or three don't think that would be a bad thing.
You always have to expect transfers and that’s fine, nobody on this team is irreplaceable, I’m just focued on who we get in the portal.

No player on a team is irreplaceable. The portal is basically free agency. With that being said, there are players on this team that are decorated and have started for 2-3 years that have experience in this system now. Nothing can diminish their worth to this program. Before their college careers, these players were also highly ranked and decorated HS recruits. Therefore with the core returnees and the incoming commits, Coach Caldwell plan that is as significantly and credibly sound as anything online that she has shared already following the early signing period is to fill a few more spots. She had a Top 15-20 (highest ranking AP #11) team following one recruiting portal session. With a full offseason, she isn’t wasting time with fans wishlists. I’m looking forward to seeing CKC first LV team in the NCAA tourney and how hopefully after 6 games in March Madness! seeing her continue to build the roster for year 2.

If all the returnees are back next season with the incoming freshmen class the guard positions are already filled, it’s not hard to even see it with the projections as they stand at the moment. Ruby Whitehorn scoring has decreased true but at one point she was like the 3rd leading scorer on the team. Cooper and Spearman are your top two offensive options currently.
This isn’t about filling one or two year windows with the five incoming freshman they are about to play and play a lot. USC freshman class this season is pretty similar to UT’s incoming class in skill and rankings across 247 Sports and ESPN w/ 3 McDAAs for both schools.
You will see atleast one to three of the freshmen on the floor at the same time with either Cooper, Whitehorn, Spearman, Boyd, Latham, or the portal additions in the post. It’s not a complicated matter.
If Scott comes to Tennessee she will have to produce in a two-way role at a rate yet to be seen in the first two seasons of her career. We’ll see.

For now ;o)

Scott would be an excellent replacement for Jewell Spear and then get Williams to replace Hollingshead and the freshmen for the others. This would be a team better than this years team.

Wondering if Vickers can re-recruit Scott. She is his kind of player, they could be a great match.

She is such a nice shooter but based on her career she would be down my list. She has now left two programs in a lurch opting not to play. Don’t know the situation but seems mental to me.

I have a suspicion Latson ends up in the portal and I think she would be perfect for us.

I don't think we should assume anything with these young athletes. None of us have any clue what they might be going through.

I think we see two players only added from the transfer portal.
I think so cause you would expect all five returnees to get 20 minutes a game and all four freshmen should get close to that as well so only minutes left for a couple of players and more so inside players than perimeter players. Our perimeter looks set with Boyd, Wynn, Mia, Mya, Deniya, Jaida. Talaysia, Lauren, Ruby and Ace, Edie. Just don't need anyone unless it is a gamechanger type of player. Two post players to help Zee and Alyssa seems to be the biggest need.

This says we're a program to keep an eye on for Serah Williams, along with LSU, Maryland, and Baylor.
Our game is more suited to the way she plays. She can run the floor so similar a game to Zee they would compliment each other. LSU took a bad pick in Del Rosario she is not going to be that effiecient inside and hasn't played much at all this season. So of course Mulkey will be out for every post in the portal. I would hope Maryland and Baylor would be the also rans as the SEC is where you come to play the best basketball these days.

baylor is cooked after this season. No big should go there. They haven’t recruited any guards and the Mulkey guards are graduating this season. She made do with holdovers from Mulkey but hasn’t backed up any of that talent.

They also had the smallest crowd of any of the home sites, so more evidence that it is a program in decline.
