The 1st time I went to Memphis, it was for work. We drove all day to get out there and I begged my work buddy to stop at the Bass Pro Shop (that was way before Sevierville had 1 and the closest BPS was Myrtle Beach). Long story short, I used all my per diem money on a 7'6" flipping stick/shimano reel combo, it was on sale. The funny part, I asked the girl at the register "how much is sales tax out here?". My buddy horse laughed at me, but at the time, I was being serious. I didn't realize we still considered Memphis part of TN..... at least I didn't.
