Basketball commit incoming…

I'm more surprised this guy wasn't getting better offers.

won back to back state titles at Lancaster, 2 time Virginia HS Player of the Year in Class 1... averaged 26 ppg, 5 rebounds, almost 5 assists and 3 steals as a Junior at Lancaster

I can only assume he got "lost" a bit playing his senior season at John Marshall. He scored a lot less points, but his % didn't dip and his assists numbers went up. So maybe at John Marshall he was asked to distribute more or something.
That and with a record breaking number of players in the portal, I wouldn't be surprised how many good players are being looked over coming out of high school.

The kid, based on his game style and statistics, seems like a solid pick up

Wish Mallory was in the boat. Would also love to know, other than being closer to home, what attracted him to VA over UT right now. His style seemed like a perfect fit for the good guys.

Clearly we’re going to hit the portal pretty hard this offseason but this kid could develop into a solid pg if he sticks around for 4 or 5 years.

How is everyone feeling about Boswell and his ability to develop and improve for next season? TBF we haven’t needed him to be anything other than a deep bench player this season with ZZ and Gainey staying healthy. Wasn’t there another PG from VA that we had on campus a month or so ago?

Regarding Boswell, I think his minutes have been big even tho his numbers aren’t noticeable. He’s allowed breathers for guys but not been given the green light to score at will. I think there’s a reason for that. He’s a good kid and player, but not at this level. He will portal, and I’ll root like heck for him cause he didn’t quit on his team…. Not saying any names either…

Not big on Boswell's potential to improve at the PG spot. Really haven't seen anything from him that screams potential. In my opinion, more of a SG.

Wonder how many times Barnes can hit on these under the radar PGs. You got to ask, do 4-5 stars under produce at a higher rate than 2-3 stars blossom? Based on stats, you are better off finding a 4-5 star and not letting expectations run wild.

Kennedy Chandler was undeniably talented. But I’d take the intelligence and leadership of a Jordan Bone Or a Zakai Ziegler all day every day.

We have a lot of spots to fill next year, you’ve gotta take a guy or two like this in the current NIL state if you’re gonna fill your roster out entirely. With that said, kid doesn’t look bad on film could definitely contribute at some point if he sticks around.
Better to use them and hope they pan out than to be trying to run short in the season.

With today's portal being what it is, I rather go after the veteran guys. It seems to me that it's almost not worth going after HS kids too much. They stay a season and then leave. Look at that 7 foot kid at SDSU. Guy was a 0 star and now he's leaving and is probably going to go to UK or some bs like that

I knew Barnes was extremely gifted at recruiting when he went after Josh Okogie

At first I was pissed we were going for 3 star players, but he was a badass at Georgia tech. No idea why he committed to Tech over us, but that is one player I wanted so bad!

I agree. Won't be shocked if he hits the portal.

I think Boswell will be good with more experience. I can definitely see him getting recruited over though, but he can make a significant jump this offseason

He played on an AAU squad with Nate Ament and multiple other Top 50 recruits, he led that team in minutes played and was their PG, shot over 60% from 3.
Say what?? Was it just really low volume or is that a typo?

Edit I see 29 attempts. That’s still small sample but it’s not THAT small lol.
