'26 TN TE Carson Sneed (Tennessee commit)

Like clockwork, every year around this time. Well, year round.

We are gonna finish top 10-12 in recruiting, with a chance at being a little higher. Gonna have a handful of can’t miss types, a good percentage of blue chips, and a few developmental types.

Every year. Y’all may as well get used to the fact that we aren’t gonna blindly throw money at every 5* and outbid every other top team. We are gonna recruit the best players who fit our culture and sign a really good, probably not elite, class like we have for the last few years.

So much unnecessary consternation.
Top 10-12 isnt good enough to win championships unless you have a string of very very very good luck, or lightning in a bottle like we had in 2022. Osu and UGA games are prime examples of talent differential and why recruiting needs to pick up. Their 4-5 stars absolutely embarrassed our 3-4 stars the entire game, especially on the OL and DL

When do we finally stop using the excuse... 'but they've been recruiting like this for years, they have better depth.'

Truth is usually someplace in the middle. If what we're saying, and what you're saying had a middle itd be. This is what we're doing, and its good. But could always do a bit better.

"Everything about Ole Miss was great. We match each other perfectly for what they want to do with the tight ends and what I'm capable of,"

From Rivals article.

Maybe we should spool up some video and run some stats on the position group from last year and that would offer insight into his concerns.

Some of y’all live in entitled brat fantasy land. Unfortunately the football program and NIL collective must operate in reality.

-None of the other top programs were a complete dumpster fire for the past 15 years like we were. Gonna take a while for kids to view us as “cool” again the way they see those programs
-Money isn’t infinite
-Those other top programs have as much or more money than we do and a good portion of them don’t invest in basketball, ladies basketball and baseball like we do
-can’t force kids to play here
-what we want as fans isn’t necessarily what the coaches want as a program. Similar to coach Barnes. Maybe character and program fit matters to them more than win at all costs

We ALL want to win at the highest level. There is no EASY button and no magic dust to sprinkle. It’s where we are as a program whether you want that to be the case or not. Y’all can run from thread to thread crying and saying the same thing over and over again if you want to. Be miserable. Isn’t gonna change anything. Just gonna make you more miserable.

Anybody have an actual solution to the problem? Where we gonna get the extra money needed? Y’all gonna pony up? No? Just complain? Got it.

So no REAL recommendation?

That’s why I hated him taking this visit. Now some in here will say it’s no big deal recruits do it all the time. If this were an official visit then that’s different. This was an unofficial and we all know Ole Miss ain’t afraid to throw money around when they want someone

The portal is supposed to help with bridging the talent gaps. But far too often we miss on blue chip prospects and replace them with guys who have yet to contribute. Actually, far too many guys we’ve signed haven’t contributed. I’ve counted 42 guys from the ‘22, ‘23 and ‘24 recruiting classes that have yet to play minutes not in garbage time or not slated to start this year

Dude wants to be highly rated. We've seen guys shut it down and fall in the rankings. Take your visits, ball out this summer, earn your ranking, peer recruit in the fall and then make Tenn official on ESD..

I'll give you Ohio State, even though they did that pretty much the entire playoff run. Georgia did not "absolutely embarrass" us in any way in that game and most certainly not the entire game. We led 10-0 after the first quarter, were tied at halftime, trailed by 7 going into the fourth quarter, and the game didn't get to a two score lead until the last 3 minutes of the game. The only significant statistical advantages they had were in sacks and passing yards. Also, two of their five sacks were by a 3 star. We out rushed them 152-106 with 22 yards taken out of our total by sacks.

Their OL dominated our DL, check our lack of tfl’s, sacks and qb hurries

Seems odd how any time a recruit or commit looks around there are the “eff him” responses. While those do sort of make sense from the uninformed fan perspective, there doesn’t seem to be any sense of introspection and wondering why? The default position of “it’s about money” might not be accurate in the least. I’m not sure UCLA is exactly spending like a drunken sailor.

His quotes in various articles mention offensive systems and skill set fits.

LOL,

How does this kid think we should use the TE more? Miles Kitselman was the 4th leading receiver on the team, Holden Staes was the 6th.

Perhaps we should run a 5 TE set?
