This was not a criminal matter just a school investigation.

More importantly that was one account made by one person against one person in one instance. In this situation, it was many unrelated parties reporting similar behavior over more than a year. The standard for someone leading young men in their development should be higher than what he’s been held to. I wouldn’t be ok with a coach of ours sending girls photos of themselves to hit on them. Add the fact that he has a family and threw in some pictures of his jortwiener, and I would check out of supporting my university if we didn’t fire him.

I'm just impressed Florida basketball has enough fans finally to supply one here for the defense force of this scumbag creeper. If the takeaway is that the university swept this under the rug (even though there is proof of photos or messages) with a favorable / biased firm and it is not a criminal matter, why have the women not gone public with an exclusive to the paper or media?

As someone said, Golden would have to turn over things if he sued for defamation and that would appear to be the quickest route to determine what did or did not happen.

I just find it odd that this has ended with the consensus of “it happened, Florida swept it under the rug, and the 5-10 women accepted that and feel there is no other options”

He already has a defamation attorney and the accuser(s) have been notified of his intentions. My understanding is that Golden is more interested in holding the bs Alligator newspaper to account than the accuser.

Todd Golden has previously stated that he has NBA aspirations and wants to coach at that level at some point. So he’s probably got another 2-3 years at Florida, if that.

So when he leaves, Florida rival fans can go back to not giving even the slightest damn of what some wayward coed and woke, low rent student newspaper has to say about him.

But as it stands now, I can see where rivals would jump on anything negative about him, exaggerate it, and use it for fuel to hate.

If there was anything similar out there about Tony Vitello, TN rival fans would be all over it, whether true or not. That dude is the best thing going today, maybe in any sport. So I get it.

Bingo. I don’t know about many here but I think if someone says there is substantial amounts of proof that something did happen, it should have a nuclear reaction to hold them to their words. Just as these women should be and just as Golden should be.

I just find it funny that all these message board posters are claiming mountains of evidence yet are hoarding it all since the only reports of the allegations feature testimony and zero reports of messages / screenshots of what the allegations are.

It certainly it is an easily provable thing. And I know from personal experience, if the pics were iPhone messages, those things are never truly deleted. The time I saw it happen was even before cloud backups and I saw texts retrieved that had been deleted months prior. They are serious allegations and you just can’t ruin a person’s career without concrete proof. Now, he’s the UF coach so we don’t need any additional excuses to hate on him.

100%. UF baseball coach, Kevin O’Sullivan went through similar false stuff a few years back, mostly fueled by LSU/FSU fans, and a few sensational “news” outlets. A innocent piece of truth about a relationship led to all sorts of inaccurate, vicious accusations. Eventually, Sully’s lawyers had to get involved with a bunch of cease and desist letters and some (not all) of the rival fan vitriol went away. That whole deal actually made the Todd Golden stuff look like peanuts. But baseball is still a little more low profile than basketball, so it mostly went away.

I supported firing Pearl for lying and firing Pruitt for cheating. Those infractions are nothing compared to the actions of Golden. I believe coaches have to be held to higher standards. It’s not a fan thing. It’s a decent human thing. You can stop repeating your empty rhetoric. It’s apparent you don’t understand.

Clayton has been unreal. One of those insanely good seasons - think UT baseball over the last few years actually. But of course need to finish, a very tall order. We aren’t playing our best ball at the moment.

And 3 teams left worry the hell out of me in order - Duke, followed by a fraction of a fraction by TN, and Auburn. I think one of those 4 teams are going to win it all. TN and Duke are playing the best leading into today.

Do you know any women? If so, ask one if they’d reveal their identity to a group of college sports fans to discuss photos of their asses or photos of a cocktail wiener that were sent to them by the team coach. One of their attorneys said they hadn’t decided whether to file civil charges. Again, the burden of proof damages is high, and the guarantee of having to hide is 100%. What’s the risk reward calculation on that? I don’t think this story is dead, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the women “settle” and sign an NDA. If so, we won’t hear another word about it.

Ironically nobody seems to want to dig up any dirt and propel any rumors when they suck - McElwain and Napier and Mike White were all as clean and pure as the wind-driven snow. There was some stuff starting to ease its way out on Mullen when he started so well, but all that disappeared as soon as the winning disappeared.

Once again, fear of public backlash from a college fanbase is no excuse to hide. Especially if there were no direct physical interactions, but digital / electronic.... Lot of parents out there would likely want to know if they were sending their kids to a college that has these types of issues.

If these things happened, we are currently at a point where the consensus is that Florida covered it up and the ones making the allegations being totally fine with it all while there are claims that there is substantial evidence. Either it continues to stay there and life goes on or it grows into something more after the season is over next week. I guess we will know in the coming weeks.

I’m sorry but a few mean words online if exposing and verifying these things happens is a sorry excuse when the overwhelming majority of people on and off line would support Golden getting canned for his actions.

Because that is literally the outcome here. Go public, provide the goods, and Golden gets canned for being a proven creep. Majority of people would support these people. Sadly the village idiots in media or commentators latch on to the small fringe because they are good for ratings.

And there are people who verified to know the women’s identity already. So let’s not act like the fan base reaction wouldn’t have already leaked identities.

Once again, the truth is sole focus here. If it happened and they can provide evidence, Golden will meet his maker.
