Cubs Catcher, Carson Kelly making lots of history last night.

First Cubs player to hit for the cycle since Mark Grace in 1993, ending the longest drought by any NL team. Carson Kelly was born in 1994 btw so he wasn’t even alive the last time it happened.

First MLB player to hit for the cycle in March.

Only the 17th catcher to hit for the cycle in MLB history.

First Cubs catcher to hit for the cycle since Randy Hundley in 1966.

It’s the third occurrence all-time of a batter hitting for the cycle and also walking twice in the same game, which hadn’t happened since the Yankees’ Joe Gordon in 1940 and A’s Mickey Cochrane in 1937.

The Royals have the longest cycle drought, with George Brett having hit one in 1990, which was before I was alive…
