2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

I beg to differ sir as it’s the opposite of pretty clear and certainly debatable whether the new post guys are an upgrade over the guys who transferred to other P5 schools.
I know you are sort of stuck on that opinion with regard to post play, but can't you admit that our vast improvement in the amount of shooters and ball-handlers (skilled perimeter players) presents a net positive in total roster turnover in spite of what potentially might be a dip in post production?

We lost 12 games last year with those guys; the most losses in 7 years.

When comparing bigs, we have to take Okpara out of the equation since he is gone eitrher way. Are we better than Cary, Cade & Estrella? New bigs are better than Cary. Cade & Estrella were hurt some many times. New bigs are at least more dependable. Also, we are not done yet.

Part of the overhaul in philosophy I think. Barnes made due with what he had, and we know he tried to bring in an elite offensive SG last portal season. This year it appears he decided he needed more offensive firepower, especially in the guards.

It definitely felt like we were one good player short last year. This year, assuming we get Juke and Ibe, it feels like we have a complete roster.

Well Ament was a bit more passive offensively than I think anyone realized. But he also wasn't getting near the calls he should have, which is part of why his shooting %s were down IMO. It's hard to make pull ups at the elbow when the guy guarding you is allowed to slap arms and be inside your cylinder.

Thankfully CRB continues to adapt and overcome in this NIL era (quite a few posters gaslighted us this wasn't possible...lol) and he rightfully has the donor support to "go big"...next season is going to be fun - we should be able to make another March Madness run. GBO!

I would even go as far as big production likely will mainly dip in rebounding and maybe defensively if Rubin is not as good as Okpara. Offensively I don't see how Harralson at the 4 doesn't provide better production than what vols had last year.

If the vols are more efficient offensively the rebounding at an elite level not as critical.

One player short? Gillespie and Ament (when he was not injured) were the only drivers and only semi-reliable three point shooters.
We'll have better drivers and three point shooters coming off the bench next year.
Huge upgrade. HUGE.
