Don't want to get ahead of myself, but this team is insane.
The studs are obviously game changers themselves - Juke is an NBA-future talent who will probably be one of the best players in college basketball next season and Hill looks like he can make plays with the best of them (I think concerns about him as a PG will be silenced incredibly quickly), score effortlessly, and has the confidence you want in your lead guard. The complimentary pieces would be the best players on most other teams - Ames was a walking bucket in the ACC, Haralson was already great without shooting 3s and has so much room to grow, and Rubin has been one of the best shot blockers in the country and looks like he can actually score from close.
But in today's game, you need more than just five guys. That's why I'm perhaps just as excited about the fact that Barnes was talking up Lundblade (MVC player of the year as every opponent's top scouting concern, let's not forget) and Brown a ton on the RTI show last night. If Lundblade can hang in there physically and Brown continues to develop and "break out" this season, as Barnes seems to think they will...you have at least seven players that are at worst good SEC starters, with a handful of All-SEC/All-American talents in the mix.
The best defensive coach in the game, elite scoring at all three levels, finally good free throw shooters, the ability to go to any guy in the rotation for game-winning buckets... Lue and the freshmen doing anything is a bonus, wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them (most likely Lue but you never know) breaks into the rotation.
Sky is the limit, guys.
