Listen, jackal, Dooley doesn't call the defensive shots. The offense is way better than it was last year. But even I have to admit when it came to Bama, we couldn't find the end zone if we'd been lying on it. Yet even in all other games we lost to big boys, the offense produced. It's the defense that isn't make our scoring stand up. That's Sunseri's area, not Dooley's. We even have a running game this year with backs that weren't first string last year. The OL can actually push now. It's teh defense that made Troy look like the other Trojans that play out of Cauliflower, I mean California. We got firepower, we just don't have shields to hold the Vulcans and Klingons at bay.
Here is the reality of the situation: OBama has performed poorly and is in over his head. He blames much of his troubles on Bush or the current Replublicans in the House or Senate. HE WILL BE RE ELECTED:::
He will lose the popular vote but will win the Electoral College.
Dooley has performed poorly and is in over his head. Blame is put on Kiffin, Fulmer and Hamilton for the reasons for Dooley's issues. HE WILL BE THE U.T. FOOTBALL COACH IN 2013. He will lose his teams support and most of the fans support but the Powers That Be will keep him in place.
Do y'all see the similiarities?????
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the national debt went from $4.2 to $5.6 trillion during the Clinton years. That amounts to spending an average of $175 billion a year more than we took in. That is $500 million a day more than we took in. Look it up.Actually, Bush did wreck the economy. Clinton had us in striking distance of of putting a major dent in our national deficit.
Similar, it's a truth whether you and your ilk want to accept it or not that CPF, LK, and Hambone did CREATE a mess that severely weakened a once proud program. The real issue in both cases is a lack of patience by citizens and fans. Plus the fact that we don't have the natural resources to make the USA the powerhouse it once was. Same with the UT. No matter who comes in, what once was will no longer be because neither the world nor the collegiate landscape is what it used to be. Nobody has a magic wand to change it. The UT stands a better chance of recovery than our nation because in times of stress and despair, people turn to distractions. Whether it's gladiators in the coliseum, TV shows like Wipeout and Blackout or football games. So for the UT, the money will return. But the massive oil reserves and other resources that fueled our nations growth is gone. We have to get it elsewhere and this just drains us more and more. No matter who the Prez is.
The argument that Dooley inherited a mess, and that he has us going in the right direction went right out the window last night. They were never legit arguments in the first place, but now the proof is there for all to see. The team Dooley inherited would not have given up 48 points to Troy at home. Not even with Dooley coaching. We're not moving in the right direction. Fact is, we're nowhere close to competing in the SEC. We're less competitive than we were in Dooley's first season. We've become Hal Mumme's Kentucky teams. Score a ton of points with nothing to show for it.

So you don't think NS would have recruited better players and we wouldn't be this bad? And you also don't think he would have these players more fundamentally sound and better coached ? And you brought up the ifs and buts by saying NS could do no better.
I'd like to think Saban could have brought in better players but thats all pie in the sky thinking....we'll never know the answer to that question, because Saban sure as hell ain't coming to Knoxville. But with all things being equal as they are today with the talent we have on the field, this team is no better with a different coaching staff than we have right now. The quality of players at UT can't compete in the SEC at the level we'd all like to see.
You may be on to something. Similar to the Obama situation.I think they were legitimate points at the start, but the whole thing was backed by the fallacious idea that inheriting a bad situation somehow equaled competence. Truthfully, adversity in no way prevented Dooley from still being a bad coach.
There's always some kind of debate involving players over who is "responsible" for problems. Some people would blame the QB, some would blame the supporting cast. Truth be told, if the offense is struggling, neither of them are good enough in all likelihood. The same applies to us. The reason why we are where we are is because Dooley inherited a mess AND he's a bad coach. No reason why it can't be both.
I respectfully disagree with you. Yes, we don't have players to win the East or SEC. But we do have the players to run circles around a crap team like MSU and maybe pull an upset against Georgia or South Carolina.
Bottom line... We go into every game with a heavy handicap because our coaching is worse than below average.
Sunseri is the reason Tennessee is playing so poorly, we have a great offense, but no defense, I say put the money out there and go get John Chavis back in orange and white.
He didn't leave, Kiffin didn't retain him, but you're right. He isn't coming back, because he will never be offered the HC position and LSU DC to UT DC is a demotion these days.
Thats right Kiffin didn't want him and everybody else was sick of him as well...people *****ed about UT defense when he was coaching. So I think he's probably pretty happy where he is.
Even players with insufficient physical skill play in position when well coached.
When you have a chance look at Rivals 100 web site and seach thru the last 4 years and look at how many top 100 players Tennessee signed compared to Alabama, Georgia, Florida and even Auburn for god sakes, but thats another coaching story on it on. But anyway check it out, pretty sad when you see how UT stacks up againest the other SEC teams.
Oh, but it didn't happen did it? See, I know exactly what I'm talking about. Dooley can thank Kiffin for Tyler Bray. The kid was already on campus when DD arrive. Dooley can thank Kiffin for Janzen Jackson. Without him we wouldn't have seen a bowl game in 2010. Don't sit there and act like Dooley took the Penn State job.
