I also want to point out that I think that SBV is correct in everything he said about the process.

And while none of it is a big deal, and there are shortcuts to everything, this hire is a different animal altogether.

There are probably all manner of extenuating issues surrounding Gruden that the administration has never dealt with before. I think when it is all said and done, we will all be pretty surprised that it happened as quickly as it did.

One thing is for sure. If Grudski wants to compete right away, there are some major holes on defense that need to be plugged asap. He can not afford to miss on any defensive players this cycle. He is a smart guy, I am sure he knows that. He has got to get on recruiting, and make some magic happen quickly. I am actually getting excited about the possibilities. Never thought I would EVER EVER say that about Gruden being coach of my beloved Vols. Pass the Grudaid please. :hi: You guys have won me over, Grudski don't let me down again. :eek:k:

What do you mean the media knows? If they know, they aren't reporting it. Saying it's a possibility but no one in the media is saying this is anywhere close to a done deal. This thread is the only place I see that.

Don't get me wrong, I think Gruden is coming. I am taking you guy's word for it. Just don't see the media being involved yet.

Now I haven't really come on here with a whole lot of info so I've contributed nothing big to these threads. But I'd like to throw my name in the hat as an OG. I've been posting in all of the Gruden threads, loving every bit of info I've gotten. I started out a believer and never wavered. My friends and family have thought I was totally nuts for the past month with all this Gruden talk. Sweet glorious victory, great times ahead on rocky top. I'm gonna have to get my season tickets in order.

As these Gruden threads speed up, and eventually erupt in celebration and long after these threads of Gruden coaching rumors die (bc we will be talking about how awesome he is as our coach), I'll look back fondly on this meeting room we've all sat in, waiting ever so patiently for the chips to fall in our favor. I've been unproductive at work, my wife thinks I'm insane. It's been so worth it. Thanks to anyone who has contributed info, laughter, hate, skepticism, whatever.
