A sign of the times...

That's the point I was trying to get to with Sparty before he went off the edge, but volbeast made the point for me. Sweet 16 and he's still calling for Martin to be fired and wouldn't back him as our coach.

I said it a week ago, the best thing is for Martin to make the dance this year and take a job elsewhere after the year.

When did I say that? Can you debate what is real on at least half your posts please. And stop playing the poor victim. You troll, prod, and flat out make up bs and the damn mods do absolutely nothing about it.
Go argue with yourself. Have fun trolling others for responses.

Headed to Kings of Leon.

Vandy had an experienced QB playing the most important position on the field. We had a 3rd string true freshman QB making his 3rd start. That alone is enough to get most teams with the talent we had beat, but we didn't get beat until almost the last play. Vandy's WR was much better than any CB we had on him. Sutton is good, but he was a true freshman. The strength of Vandy's team were their DB's and they feasted on a true freshman QB. We had zero passing game after North got hurt and Dobbs threw 2 early picks. We were going to win or lose the game behind an underachieving O-line. We almost pulled it off miraculously.

If you can't look at a game rationally and see where the mismatches were and why we lost then there is no helping you. UT was favored by 1-2 points at home which means on a neutral field or away they would've been bigger underdogs.

Dobbs was 4th string. It was being reported that Fergeson was ahead of him, but he had some sort of undisclosed lower leg injury during practice the week before Bama.

I actually agree with your position, but I do find the bolded part troublesome. Let's assume Vandy had equal talent (I don't think they did, but let's say they did). Isn't it worrisome that Butch lost with equal talent, at home, after a bye, with a bowl berth on the line?

I see where you're coming from, but getting nothing from the QB spot killed us in that game. Our defense played more than good enough to win, but having to start a 4th string true freshman QB who had just gotten lit up by Bama, AU, and Missouri didn't do our offense any favors. Could the coaches have found ways to work around it better, maybe, but it's hard to hide bad QB play.

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to bash Dobbs. He's got a really high ceiling. He just wasn't ready to start his first year. Not many QBs are in the SEC.

(Would have multi-quoted those but I'm on mobile)

I didn't make your point....I said my opinion of him wouldn't change till he proved he could win consistently and build a program......I also said he would have earned another yr and maybe two. It's not about one season, it's about building a program.

If Martin can't handle fans expectations of him then he is probably too fragile to coach div 1 basketball.

Hindset is a great thing isn't it? Not saying you specifically, but after the Oregon game I would say 90% of the board wanted Dobbs/Fergy over Worley bird.

Then we end up 5-7 with a loss to Vandy, and it's all this talk about for playing a freshman QB killed us., and if it wasn't for an injury we'd have been 7-5 or better.

Who said Martin couldn't handle fans expectations? Where did that come from?

That's crazy....win and recruit good......it will be expected every where he goes.

There's a contingent of fans who have said they'll never support him. Whether you agree or not, the best thing is for him to make the dance and move in so someone else can come in.

It's funny how that works out. If fans got what they wanted with player moves all the time their teams would be a lot worse off.

I was up for starting Peterman at FL. That obviously didn't go so smoothly.

Oh good grief Zo and you needs to man up.....who gives a d&mn whether a small contingent wont support him....obviously u r talking about message boards.....I don't think the number saying that is even close to 1/10 of the crowd that has been supporting him at the games.

Take a poll on this board of if you'll ever support Zo, what would your guess on percentages be?

I would hope that if we made the tournament, had a bit of a run, then next year came back with a well run offense and defense and had a surprise season, no one would have a problem supporting him.

I know I would. I wanted him to succeed, but I just don't have faith any more that it's going to happen.

Not sure but we win the next five including Florida and ask that question and u would have an overwhelming majority saying they would like Zo....

It's all about wins and losses.....why else would someone like him?

As of today, if I started a poll, can Zo do anything to get your support, or has he completely lost you....

What do you think the numbers are?

Pretty low bc fans are pissed....win and they become happy.....it's not rocket science.

We just let Vandy talk sh&t to us with their t shirts before a game and instead of kicking a&&, bent over in front them and took it.

You still didn't answer my question lol

The question isn't, so do you like him after this win or loss. The question is could he do anything to get your support, or has he completely lost it? That means regardless of if he wins the next one or not, you wouldn't support him.

So I'll ask again, what do you think the numbers would be?

They will answer based on how they feel in the moment.....ask after we upset florida and the results will be entirely.....surely u r smart enough to understand the difference.
