So that quote by Zo about "true" fans wasn't a real quote

Rucker is saying he was paraphrasing and that he can't read for the people that follow him. Just to review, here was the tweet:

'Cuonzo: I'm really happy for our true fans -- the ones who have been behind us the whole time'

I tweeted him that it's irresponsible but he takes no responsibility at all. It's our fault for thinking it was a quote.

Anyway, apologies to Zo. He didn't deserve the extra criticism coming his way from this "paraphrasing".

Rucker is terrible. When I saw the quote was from his twitter I knew there was no way it could be accurate.

Rucker is a hack - I had to stop following him on twitter.

Irresponsible paraphrase, but he knew what he was doing.

Here's the quote in context:

"Im just happy, but because it's a team game, I'm happy for them and our staff, not necessarily for me personally," Martin said of what the milestone meant to him.

"It's just exciting for the program. Exciting for the fans that have been there through thick and thin and supported us. I'm happy for all of them. You wouldn't believe how many former players, not just in basketball but football, baseball, volleyball, that send letters and e-mails letting us know how much they support our program. So I'm really happy for those that have stuck with us."

Of course he did. The fact that he hasn't been reprimanded by his bosses blows my mind. The guy picks fights with people on Twitter every single day.

I wish he would get "traded" to cover another team somewhere else. His disdain for the Vols and the fanbase is so painfully obvious.

Part of me is hoping Cuonzo takes us on a Final Four run and earns himself a better opportunity elsewhere. Knoxville is proving it isn't deserving of a good basketball coach. Why should he stay here when even the media stokes the fire of this smear campaign.

I'm not surprised. Hacks who cover the Vols think it's their job to keep **** stirred. I dumped him last yr and haven't missed him any.

Wow. I actually fully agree with you.

That is some of the most unprofessional "journalism" I've seen in recent memory. You know he purposely minced that quote to create a story that wasn't even there. Pathetic Rucker.
